I stayed in a 6 bed female dorm for 2 nights. Good points- great location, fresh towel, free breakfast, coin laundry onsite, lockers in rooms, has a social bar area in the basement. Bad points- the bathroom (toilet, shower and sink) is inside the bedroom- there's no other communal bathrooms...as you can imagine with an all female dorm, this wasn't... More

Stayed in a female 4 bed dorm w a bathroom, clean, friendly atmosphere, easy to socialize, comfortable bed, helpful staff, nice bar, cold beer, huge lounge area, the Metro (subway) "Lucien-L'Allier" is a 1min walk. TheVIARail is one stop from that at "Bonaventure". My first choice next time. :)

This hostel is very clean compared to general hostel standards. Breakfast is included and has æggs, fruit and bagels among other things. There is no limit on how much you can have for breakfast so you can easily grab some apples or bananas for later. If you are there ower the weekend make sure to book for all days at... More

This was the first hostel I've ever stayed in and I was very impressed, the room was shared with three others (i.e. had two bunk beds) and had it's own bathroom. The room was large enough so that each person had their own space. Downstairs is a bar, kitchen and dining area, which was the hub of the hostel, great... More

I stayed here for a few days while I was traveling in Montreal with my school group. I was in a room with three other girls who I knew. The beds are bunk beds and the pillows are average pillows. The water was interesting to try to turn to the right temperature. They also had lockers for you to lock... More

That is a rather extensive and proper description of the hostel. Thank you for that. As for the correct prices of a stay, it varies from as cheap as 15$/ nights for a 10 bed room in the low season and we also rent en suite private rooms that are around 100$/night. Be aware that we are a member based... More

Very near metro and airport bus. Area quiet off main road but little run down. Free breakfast which was ok. Beds not that good, pillows rubbish, no lights, charges etc by the bed. Staff ok could have been better. Noisy, walls thin but clean. Iffy wifi.

The hostel is a walk away from Rue St Catherine and Crescent, and all the restaurants, pubs and nightlife they have to offer. The staff are helpful and organised a Pub Crawl on the night I stayed, which was great!! The rooms are basic and the breakfast is nice - perfect for backpackers and those on a budget.

We got a private, two person room with a bathroom in it. This was still quite basic, more expensive than the typical hostel experience, but a great value for us 50+ bike travelers. The room also had a TV and high speed wifi throughout the property. The rathskeller bar was a great lively scene and economical for drinks and ambience... More

I stayed here with three other people in two different private rooms in June 2015. The hostel was nothing special: it looked a little grubby and grimy but was generally clean, room space was small (but what do you expect?), bunk beds were sturdy and not too noisy. It would be great if each bed could have it's own light... More

We stayed here for two nights in an 8 bed dorm. The room was fairly clean and the shower room was also fine. The free breakfast was ok (choice of bagel or cereal and fruit) but nothing special. The location wasn't great for this although it is situated close to the mont royal parc which is certainly worth a visit.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
