As a wheelchair user I cannot recommend this hotel. Most doors are not automatic nor have a button to open them automatically. The so-called handicapped room was spacious enough but the bathroom was totally NOT accessible. I could not enter with my wheelchair. The restaurant was very basic. Don't expect a romantic candlelit dinner...The pool looked very nice and after... More

Lovely hotel in downtown Montreal. The room and bath are spacious, well appointed and very clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I especially enjoyed the lovely pool and garden setting right in the middle of the city. Proximity to shopping and great restaurants was also a real plus.

This hotel is really nice. We had everything we needed. Our favourite part was the heated pool on the roof. This hotel is located right downtown close to a lot of restaurants and shops. The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful.

this might come to a surprise to you, they do not advertise this but the Bonaventure is no longer a Hilton Hotel. It was a surprise to us checking in on June 20th! It is still a nice place but be aware the Bar Prices are rather "large".

This hotel is well hidden in downtown Montreal with a rooftop pool and terrace. Finding the main entrance with my car was not easy. Once there, I chose valet parking to avoid more annoyance. We must take the elevator to get to the Lobby, several floors up. The place is clean, good looking and the amenities are excellent. My only... More

The Hotel Bonaventure is a lovely hotel in a good location. (It used to be a Hilton hotel.) The rooms were very nice. The only negative was the layout of the hotel. In order to get to the lobby, you must take an elevator (it's 10 floors up). Furthermore, there are three main floors of the hotel, and there is... More

Stayed here for two nights to see a FIFA game. Shopping up the street in the morning, then relaxed by the pool before the game. Staff nicely directed us to the subway below the hotel to get to the Olympic Stadium. Easier to use than Toronto subway. The night before we hit old Montreal in the other direction about a... More

For the one that wrote rude service from the front desk, maybe your the one that was rude at first.. The staff is absolutely AMAZING..from the front door man...to the great reception staff...I beleive her name was Catherine and the manager on... More

There is a serious top down management problem at the Bonaventure Hotel. I've travelled all over the world staying in every class of hotel and have rarely been treated so poorly (if ever). The receptionist was cold, rude, and extremely presumptuous. One of my co-workers reservations was lost and rather than apologize and try to help remedy the situation he... More

The bonaventure is always a favorite of mine to stay in. Montreal is such a unique city and this hotel is one of its gems. The pool is my favorite spot at the hotel, open year round! When you're at the pool You almost forget that you're in the middle of a city, it's very relaxing. The rooms are nice... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
