The rooftop gardens and pool area were such a surprise that you didn't realize you were mid-city. Large comfortable rooms, very congenial staff who patiently listened to my French, then quickly switched to English. The location is so convenient - you can walk to the Central train station, clean subway lines, park where you can pick up Hop-On-Hop-Off tourist bus,... More

All I can say is total let down. Plain and simple worn out and no service culture. Plain and simple there is way better value for money in Montreal. Key issues: Staff not trained Bar closes before appointed closing time No room service past 11 Worn out and tired

There for a conference and what a great hotel. Hotel is so unique and such a surprise. Roof top indoor-outdoor pool, walking paths with meandering stream and lots of places to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful setting. Staff were great and very helpful. I was there for a conference and meals and service was excellent. My husband enjoyed having... More

This hotel is a little oasis in the city. Perched above an office tower, most of the rooms look inward toward a garden and pool. You would swear you were somewhere tropical. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. The food at the restaurant is elegant and well prepared. The staff are also extremely helpful and polite. Oh and free... More

Visited for a low key girls weekend. Great pool - it's what sold us. Service at the pool was TERRIBLE. It wasn't even busy but the waiter clearly didn't want to serve us as he kept serving any other party (notably older patrons) but not us - ignoring us when we would flag him down politely for a menu. We... More

My husband and I grew up in Montreal but moved away 25 yrs ago. We were back in town for a family event and were enchanted by the rooftop gardens, the amazing location and friendly staff. The vintage brutalist architecture and proportions of the rooms and corridors reflect good design and high quality materials, particularly in the marble bathrooms. I... More

Hotel was very easy to find and location was great. Clean rooms, pleasant staff - convenient walking distance to St Catherine's Street, Underground & Old Montreal. Rooftop pool and bar was very nice, but also very busy. Would stay here again.

We stayed at this fine hotel recently for 4 nights with 2 other couples during our trip to Montreal and Canada and enjoyed it very much. The location is excellent - Metro and underground city right there and within walking distance to restaurants and shops, Old Montreal and other historic sites. Major highways and roads are not far from the... More

We stayed at the Hotel Bonadventure for two nights and it was fabulous from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The staff were always kind, helpful and knowledgeable. We came in on the VIA which is right across the road so that was super easy to navigate. The hotel is connected underground to malls so if it's... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
