Just returned home last night after a beautiful 4 nights stay at this property. This was our firs t stay here and it certainly met our expectations. We (my husband and 10 year old son) simply loved the outdoor heated pool, we could always find lounge chairs as it was never overcrowded. The constant staffed lifeguard made for a calm,... More

The Hotel with everything! This hotel is located directly across from the via rail station, it has direct access from the hotel to the subway station (Metro) without having to walk outside, choice of hotel restaurant or underground eating areas (Starbucks, gelato, deli...), heated pool that was actually warm. I cannot say enough about this hotel, it is not located... More

Want to be in the city and be walking distance to restaurants, shopping, nightlife and the Metro? This is the best hotel that I have stayed at while in Montreal. Get a room the faces the rooftop gardens. These are accessible from inside the Hotel. The garden has a river the runs along the entire length of the garden. It's... More

This is a good quality hotel in Montreal downtown. The building is ugly on top of a Corbusier-inspired concrete block (help from Stalin). But none of the big hotels in Montreal would (or at least shouldn't) win architectural awards. The rooms are big and clean. You're better of with an internal room, i.e. with a view into the gardens or... More

Thank you for your review of our hotel. It can be quite surprising when first arriving at the hotel to see that our lobby is at the top of the building. Our unique appearance is only one of the many charming characteristics at our hotel in Montreal. We look forward to seeing you again soon! More

Our trip to Montreal was well researched. We chose Hotel Bonaventure because it wasn't a chain AND because of the location. We stay 6 days and were able to walk to 10 of the 14 things on our "to do" list. The staff was accommodating, the rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Because we had so many... More

Fantastic hotel for a wonderful experience in Montreal. The heated swimming pool has an inside entrance so you swim under a shield and out into the sunshine, even when the air temperature is -20*C. There are a good restaurant in the hotel and many within walking distance. Cultural landmarks abound in Montreal and our room overlooked one. One of the... More

Very friendly bilingual staff, clean rooms, comfortable, quiet, you can park right at the door for $39, or valet park, but our truck was too high for their parking garage so they directed us to the parking garage across the street, which had high ceilings, but for some reason wouldn't allow trucks. The staff could have been more informed there... More

A King Room acquired on Hotwire.... would definitely stay again! I arrived at 2:00 p.m.... my rooms was not ready but they quickly found another room... only difference was no "pull out couch" but I was travelling alone so it made no difference. Recently renovated well appointed rooms. This hotel was very clean. Rooms overlook roof garden, indoor/outdoor pool, nice... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
