We've been staying here since 2001. This was the first time since new ownership, it now has one of the best restaurants in Montreal! Wonderful caring and beautiful staff. Are stay ended with our second meal there, a wonderful guitarist, and a tour of the penthouse site that spoiled me forever. Would have stayed but sold out.

The smile on your faces on that final night meant the world to us. Our guitarist Mel is a real gem and we are glad you met him. Come back soon! More

Full disclosure: I stayed here 23 years ago on our July honeymoon. It was superb then, and the photos and reviews make me want to return soon. Friendly atmosphere, wonderful use of the space, and great location in Old Montreal.

I don't know which I loved more about this hotel the people or the style. If you are looking for an intimate personalized experience then Hotel Epik is it! Perfectly situated in Old Montreal it was like stepping back in time. The hotel is small but the rooms are very spacious and beautifully appointed. The staff are extremely helpful and... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Epik for our 25th Anniversary. The room was perfect and they had flowers waiting upon our arrival. Ulrich was amazing at helping us find things to do, even on a rainy cool day in Old Montreal. The entire staff in the restaurant and bar were friendly and fun to talk to each night. The... More

Over the years my wife and I have stayed at every major hotel in Montreal. From now on we will only stay at the Epik Hotel. The Epik is located just off the main area of old Montreal so as not to be in the midst of the "hubbub" but, close enough to be able to walk everywhere. The hotel... More

Great big thank you to Hotel Epik and manager, Paul, for a beautiful stay. I booked this hotel for my wedding. Paul was eager to make our stay memorable; we had breakfast served in the room, extra special care throughout our stay including car service to the venue. The room was comfortable, beautifully appointed and made for great photos. THANK... More

Paul and his staff, particularly Lucia, made every effort to make our stay comfortable. The hotel is perfectly located in Old Montreal and every site to visit easily accessible by walking, bike or the Metro. There are food choices galore. The breakfast was plentiful but dull and if you tried to eat late, just prior to 10:00a.m., some of the... More

We appreciate the feedback. While we do aim to exceed expectations, we realize that things fell short during your stay. Breakfast hours are more clearly indicated upon arrival and new staff have gone through a tour of Old Montreal with a Gold Key Concierge. As for the bathroom floor, tile cement has left some marks on the grout. This will... More

Excellent hotel and staff; perfect location to many sights, attractions, restaurants and shopping. Staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was beautiful, clean, comfortable and quiet. We also walked all over the city as well as took the metro. Best to stay in Old Montreal and to take transit to other areas as necessary; metro is very easy... More

we recently visited Montreal and had an amazing experience at this hotel. We love small boutique hotels and this is the best. From the beginning we were treated as special guests by the manager Paul. He gave us excellent advice on where to go and what to see. And he "lugged" our luggage to our third floor room. We also... More

We had the most amazing experince! I've had numerous dinners all over Montreal and Epik gave us this incredible sharing experience as we sat amongst friends. The quality of the food was outstanding, a breath of fresh as we kept being impressed every plate they prepared for us. The staff is friendly and cordial. We definitely recommend going and using... Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
