Wonderful and attentive staff. Penthouse was phenomenal (comfortable, stylish and very clean) and the food was great! Highly recommend Epik Hotel. Only complaint was some night noise (people walking by partying), but that's what you get with such a great location.

Staff was very friendly and courteous. Everything was very clean and neat. Food and drinks were excellent! Breakfast was included and had fruit, pastries, cereal, coffee. There are only 9 rooms so you don't ever get that crowded feel like staying at a large hotel. Both nights we enjoyed dinner at the hotel and only one other couple ate there... More

We requested a quiet room and were put in the back, it was totally quiet and we slept like babies. The staff was friendly and helpful. We still talk about the breakfast. The location made touring Vieux Montreal EZ.

We stayed 4 nights in February 2015. Some good points are : Comfortable room, bed and bathroom. Has bottled water and a coffee maker in the room. We booked this room in advance , 7 month prior, asking a room with a view to the street. Check in time 3pm . We came at 4pm. Unfortunately the room we asked... More

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It appears that your stay was an example of how small things can make a big difference. However, it does appear that our team went out of their way each and every time to rectify the issue. To clarify some of the points you raised: We do our best to accommodate everyone but it's... I cannot fault this hotel, beautiful room, decor rustic and cosy. Staff extremely friendly and pleasant. Great location. Will most certainly recommend to beautiful Montreal and if so to this hotel!! We requested a room with a fireplace and were given this.

It was a pleasure to welcome you! We know how charming the fireplaces are and we will be adding more to the remaining King bedrooms soon. More

...in every way. A small hotel, charming and friendly. The rooms have timbered ceilings and the walls are stone. Front desk staff are eager to offer dining and other suggestions for visitors. Good breakfasts! And the location cannot be improved upon––the street is interesting in itself and in the midst of Vieux Montreal.

I was so pleased to find the Hotel Epik just as charming and comfortable as had been reviewed. The location is right in the midst of all the old town shops and attractions. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Wonderful restaurants are plenty just a walk away; We had a fantastic dinner at CLUB CHASSE ET PECHE..which was just... More

I chose this hotel by chance on the internet for a weekend in Montreal and it was perfect. It was in Vieux Montreal and we could walk to the subway, the St Lawrence River and to numerous restaurants. There was a shop next door selling basic provisions. It was a small hotel but the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.... More

Wonderful stay at Hotel Epik! Excellent location in Old Montreal. Staff professional, accommodating and knowledgeable. Breakfast good. Hotel beautifully redone; old stone walls with modern touches and updated bathrooms. Very comfortable beds. Highly recommend!

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
