We were very happy with the location of this hotel as the area was quiet but everywhere was within walking distance. We liked our room very much and loved the shower. We also ate there one evening which was really nice. Quite a small menu but very tasty food. Great place to stay when visiting Montreal. We highly recommend it.

The location was perfect, we walked everywhere and had lovely restaurants near and far. The rooms were beautiful, modern, elegant and with attention to detail, but the best was the service and the attention to us. We arrived Christmas day (2014) and although they served no dinner at that time they prepared a lovely assortment of food for us, complimentary. Our... More

My husband and I recently at this stylish boutique for three nights whilst on our honeymoon. We could not have asked for more. The hotel is absolutely stunning with raw stone walls and cozy rooms with a fireplace and an awesome bathroom. The management and staff were outstanding and always willing to give us plenty of tips on where to... More

Stayed there for 3 nights with our adult children. Lovely, quiet and wonderful location. The staff is very attentive and gave us wonderful recommendations for touring and restaurants. A boutique hotel with lots of extras....this one cannot be missed.

We recently visited Epik Hotel Montreal for a romantic night. We stayed in the King room on the 2nd floor over looking St. Paul. The room was spacious with comfortable bed, clean and it had a beautiful bath. The bathroom was very stylish with cool LED lights in the shower. The staff knew we were coming for a special night and... More

Stayed for 3 nights in November - the Epik is a great choice if you like small, full of character boutique hotels. The location is a 5 minute stroll to Notre-Dame, similar to the waterfront and you are surrounded by bars and some great restaurants (and boutique style shops). It's a 10 minute drive from the main station or a... More

Fantastic hotel in the center of Old Montreal. Very professionally run and staffed. I thought it was a great value also. We stayed in the King room on the 2nd floor over looking St. Paul. No street noise because of double windows. And I mean there were two sets of windows that opened. Spacious and beautiful bath. The photos are... More

Epik hotel is located in the center of the old town, in a animated street full of restaurants and shops. Nevertheless, the sleeping quality was excellent (good bed, calm night). The room was very nice, big and clean with a charming atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They were always ready to help or to give a good... More

Even though the hotel was conveniently located in Old Town and we could walk everywhere, there was no elevator in a four story hotel. Difficult to get our luggage upstairs. Also, located next to a bar and we were awakened at 2 AM and noise didn't stop until 4AM, both nights we were there. Also no AC. Could not recommend... More

No hotel is perfect but our team does everything we can to overcome inconveniences. Our fantastic location in the heart of Old Montreal does put our guests right in the action along Saint-Paul street. Noise can be an issue for sensitive sleepers however regardless of our central location, these issues are rare. This being a nearly 200 year old building,... More

Stayed at the Epik for one night of a weekend getaway to old Montreal. Room was a bit tight but well appointed and comfortable. Beautiful exposed stone walls lend to the ambiance as the building is close to 200 years old. Bathroom, linens, bedding all first rate. Very quiet. Minimalist breakfast included with room. Wifi excellent. Staff were most helpful... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
