My wife and I stayed here for one night in December. Located right in front of a park, lots of parking, many restaurants nearby (we dined at La Banquise, a poutine place). There was a cool looking wine bar next door (forget the name), but it was shut the entire last week of December according to the sign on the... More

Found this hotel on Groupon and was floored by all the great Trip Advisor reviews. The staff was wonderful, the breakfast was really yummy and the rooms were all unique, updated and had spacious bathrooms. The location across from the park was lovely. The Mt. Royal neighborhood is great and hotel is within walking distance to many great restaurants and... More

It's the stuff of holiday nightmares: you've got everything figured out, you're ready to go, then a kid gets sick. Really sick. And the reason for your trip is a wedding. Your best friend's wedding. The guy who spent a week of his life before *your* wedding being the very best man. Four days before kick-off, you can't really turn... More

This hotel should be kept a secret for those of us who come on a regular basis. So please do not read any further or tell anyone that you read this here! Promise? The "Auberge" in the name translates as "Inn." This is an old-fashioned inn with many modern amenities. Each room has a different design, decor and color. The... More

After an absence of many years we returned to this inn. It is located directly across from the park. It is perfect for jogging, strolling or sitting (in the warm weather). The location is ideal for shopping, eating and drinking (may I recommend Le Lab, one block east for cocktails). Rooms are not fancy but are most functional. It is... More

It is an amazing place to stay with friendly staff. They put on an amazing little breakfast compared to any place I have stayed in the past. The room we had was large well furnished. Free parking is hard to find. But there is a pay lot just across the street for the park.

Just spent a couple of nights here and have nothing but compliments for the staff and general conditions of the hotel. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Definately a place I would revisit on my next trip to Montreal.

I hadn't been back to Auberge de la Fontaine for a couple of years, and I'm glad to see that it's still excellent. The rooms are very comfortable, the location is delightful, breakfast is substantial, excellent and included! Very highly recommended!

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
