Nice value, not fancy, clean and practical. Well trained gracious and helpful front desk staff (we had 1000 questions). On the park itself, quiet residential/commercial mixed neighborhood, less than a mile from the busy restaurant section and the bus to the Rogers Cup tennis (we were in town for that). Well done continental breakfast in morning. Easy to call a... More

Two kinds of omelets, toast or muffins or pastry, cheese and fruit -- wow! But get downstairs early -- before nine if you want choices. And at that time the breakfast room can get a bit crowded. Cookies and fruit, ccffee and tea and fruit available from the open kitchen at all hours. The rooms are cozy, the beds comfortable,... More

We stayed one evening .When we checked in we were upgraded to a large room with a terrace overlooking the park across the road. We parked on the street as there were only 2 parking spots for the hotel guests and they were taken . the hotel has a European feel to it and we quite liked that We were... More

We had a great stay. The staff was helpful and friendly. We loved that it is in a neighborhood but withing walking distance (if you like to walk long distances which we do) from most Montreal sites. When we were tired it was easy to take the metro. Consistently good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Terrace was a nice touch. The Wifi... More

Pros - Staff very friendly. Had an upgrade to a front Terrace room. Across from park. Great view. Breakfast was good every day. Room size was wonderful. Cons - individual air conditioning not available. Someone from the front desk had to regulate per requests of guests on each floor. Wifi - spotty and weak in room, but best if you... More

In a city with a boulangerie/patisserie on every other corner, each better than the last, it is an offense bordering on the criminal to server grocery store prepackaged croissants and frozen quiche. We were expecting a step up from other B&B's we've stayed in on the plateau, but instead found the bland decor and industrial food of a mediocre American... More

I just made a short trip up to Montreal for business purposes & had a lovely stay at this super cute & quiet B&B. I wasn't sure what to expect never being to the city, and I will admit walking up to the address I was a little nervous... But none the less I couldn't have been more wrong. This... More

I think we just finished our 8th stay at the Auberge. The friendly, considerate staff welcomed us once again, remembered who we were, knew our preferences from previous stays. Very nice. Beautiful public park across the street. A feeling of safety, even at night. Pleasant feeling that one is in a neighborhood with real people and off the tourist path.... More

Lovely, cozy B&B in trendy neighborhood across from large, lively park. Friendly staff was most accommodating. As walkers, we found the location reasonably convenient to metro, restaurants, and especially enjoyed strolling the park. Parking has limitations but the staff seems experienced with working it out. (Metro ride to Old Town 15 minutes).

I enjoyed staying at this little inn for a couple of nights in May. The room was cute and as quiet as I needed it, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was fine. It is located a bit far from a metro (about a 20 minutes walk), but such is life! I however found it a little... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
