I booked this hotel through hotwire on the day I stayed after a disastrous air bnb experience, and was a decent enough rate for the time we stayed. Its a nice hotel, but everything seemed such a long way away to walk despite its central location. It is located on near Mont-Royal, but its a good 30-40 minutes walk to... More

Excellent hotel, located right across the street from McGill University (the reason for our visit) - and a short walk from many downtown restaurants and shops. The Omni provided us with wonderful service from start to finish, so we were extremely happy with our stay.

I have stayed in other Omni Hotels in the past and I have to say this is the most disappointing one I have stayed at. There was a dog staying next door which is against hotel policies. They delivered a small fruit tray the next day with their apologies. We stayed for 4 days and ordered food service for each... More

I have to say, upon writing this review I began by being very optimistic . I was once a concierge , employed by the four seasons in Toronto, so I had high expectations of this property as it was once a four seasons property. Upon check in I experienced discrimination as a woman by having my husbands credit card and... More

My wife and I stayed at this Omni property for the first time. Yes, it was a Hotwire purchase, so there was an element of uncertainty involved. The hotel, for the most part, was clean. The staff were nice. While it's by no means run down, the decor is circa 1970s (not retro; more outdated) and could use a facelift.... More

perfect location. sucks that there is no wifi in the room- but if you stay more than 1 night, you can become a member and get free night of wifi. the staff wont tell you that. since i dont know the prices of other hotels in the area, i am not sure if this was a good value or not

I was here for two nights on an organized tour. The hotel staff was excellent and the rooms were very comfortable. The location is central to many local attractions. I was slightly surprised at the limited selection of appetizers available in the bar, but the spring rolls I ordered were delicious.

Overall this hotel is very inviting. Staff is extremely friendly and approachable. Location is pretty central. Rooms are typical hotel rooms. Clean, very comfortable bed, bathroom is large and very clean.

We stayed 3 nights at the Omni, and would definitely return. Location is perfectly central to shopping, the Museum of Art, and was an easy 10 minute walk to the fabulous jazz venues for the festival. Can't say enough about it's excellent location. The reception area is small but elegant, with a great bar and cucumber or cranberry water waiting... More

Located across from McGill University and within walking distance to the Metro and a number of good restaurants. The service during check-in was quick and accurate. My son received a welcome backpack with crayons and some kid items upon arrival that was a nice touch. The room was clean and spacious but the windows did not keep out all of... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
