I stayed here for 2 nights with my young daughter and it is a wonderful place. The host is wonderful, the B&B really gorgeous ( even though we had a shared bathroom), great location, and a wonderful breakfast. I booked and didn't realize i took a room with a shared bathroom and had a lot of preconceive notion of what... More

I stayed at this B&B when my dad, girlfriend and myself were touring around Canada. My dad had the queen room with the en suite and me and my girlfriend were in the double with the shared bathroom. All of the rooms and the whole house is finished to a very high standard and Carine is a wonderful host. She... More

Carine and Chris are exemplary hosts: attentive to every detail and a gentle, unobtrusive presence. The rooms in their recently-renovated, gorgeous old home are appointed with smart, modern furnishings. Nothing is worn or dilapidated here and I daresay you will never stay in cleaner, more pristine lodgings anywhere. Breakfasts feature fresh breads from the wonderful boulangerie around the corner and... More

Apologies for late posting ! Stayed here for 3 nights last July. We could not have made a better choice. Brilliant location in charming residential street close to parks, and subway (Sherbrooke Station) as well as good local restaurants and amenities. The accommodation is superb. Stayed in room Chocolat which was large, beautifully decorated and appointed. This is a beautiful... More

When we were younger, my wife and I used to stay in B&Bs all the time, but since we had kids we've moved into hotels. This beautifully appointed, perfectly situated house reminds me of what we've missed. Even without Corinne's hospitality, LLaC would have been great, but she is a wonderful host and makes it that much nicer. We will... More

We visited Montreal for my birthday weekend. With all the rave reviews, our expectations were high. Le Lit au Carre fulfilled them all. Great location, well-appointed rooms, beautifully decorated spotless common areas, delicious breakfast with beautiful presentation . Carine is a perfect hostess, knowledgeable and helpful about all Montreal has to offer. This place immediately felt like home.

Nothing but positive comments about this B&B: The location could not be better. A few minutes walk to Sherbrooke station and you are connected to the wider region. Carine is a lovely hostess. Great attitude and personality. We asked for advice on where to eat and she gave great options that really suited and all within a few minutes. Carine... More

We shudder to think how different our experience of Montreal might have been had we stayed at a hotel downtown, or really anywhere but Le Lit au Carre. This is why we recommend staying here: Carine's very warm hospitality, her gorgeous and well-appointed house, her excellent advice about the town, and her delicious, multi-course breakfasts. If that isn't enough to... More

Wonderful little gem, well located in a charming little street. The house is beautiful and rooms are tastefully decorated. The host Carine is so friendly and makes the best breakfast, it was sumptuous. We will definitely visit her again. Make sure to ask for restaurant recommendations!

Le Lit Au Carré is a charming B&B located in a lovely part of Montreal. Minutes from the citywide metro, a charming park, pedestrian mall and a lively commercial, this lovely Victorian B&B is hosted by Carine, who cooks an elaborate hot breakfast (including fresh bread from a nearby bakery!) each morning for her guests. The rooms are beautifully decorated... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
