I was searching for a nice hotel, in a good area. This was a excellent choice. I've stayed here for 3 nights, and let me clear, if you want superb hotel, don't choose this one. Goods: Very central, nice neighborhood, very close to subway and central bus station (to and from airport), simple breakfast (croissant, cafe, orange juice), free wifi,... More

We had booked for one night. On arrival the location was basically awful with homeless people walking up and down the middle of the road begging for money. Bad start. Parked outside quickly to go check in. Inside was dirty with cigarettes on the floor. A grubby man appeared who at first looked like one of the homeless people who... More

I stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time. The staff here are just so friendly and helpful and made my time here very enjoyable. The hotel is clean and comfortable and is in a great central location, close to many restaurants and sites. The croissant and coffee each morning was delicious! Highly recommended!

I stayed in this small hotel for 4 nights, it is near to berri-uqam station and long distance bus terminal. I took a long distance bus, the location is really superb. Walkable to many attractions, e.g. Chinatown, Old montreal. Many restaurants and pubs nearby, don't have to worry about food. Simple breakfast with croissant is served with coffee everyday, which... my husband and I spent 5 nights here and we have no complaints. Fabulous location, our too was cleaned every day. Everything is within walking distance and some great places to eat. Yes, there are homeless people around, maybe on drugs, who knows but having travelled the world this past year we have seen a lot worse. We would stay... More

This is not a guest hotel, this is a prostitution/drug den. My wife and I pulled up and there were heroin addicts shooting up outside. There was no hotel parking and the "attendant" told me I would have to park at a meter out on the street and move my car at 8am for street cleaning. As I was checking... More

I'll start off by saying I understand "You get what you pay for". I've stayed in mostly hostels or boutique hotels and they have almost always exceeded my expectations. We stayed here for 3 nights (Wed-Sat) in July during Just For Laughs, and paid about $250 for the duration of our stay. Although it's certainly not horrible... it just didn't... More

This small hotel is a short walk from Berri/UQAM metro station. The Latin Quarter, The Village, Chinatown, old Montreal, the plateau, and various parks are all within easy walking distance, i.e. a perfect location. Restaurants and shops abound in the area. However, this is definitely a budget hotel. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Lots of hot water and... More

We chose this hotel, mostly because it was a great deal, at under 50 a night. The hotel is, dated and looks more like a cottage/cabin. The rooms aren't the biggest. Our shower did not work too well, and it had that dingy feel. Owner was nice, let us keep our bags for a few hours after check out. Great... More

The Hotel du Manoir St. Denis is located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, along a street with many restaurants, bars and shops. It is a three-minute walk to the Berri-UQAM Metro station, which serves three of the four subway lines and allows you quick, convenient access to the rest of Montréal. Most points of interest are within three... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
