The bathroom wasn't too clean, the tap was constantly dripping, the electrical sockets werent working so it was hard to plug anything in... we also requested a later check out time when i booked the room months earlier and they were not accommodating at all. I had to speak to the front desk multiple separate times to change our check... More

Then this is your place. It is convenient to subways and the 'Gay Village' as it is called and some decent restaurants, so those are pros. The cons, it is very, very tired. The bar and restaurant are not what I'd remotely call full-service (a clock radio was playing at the bar). We upgraded to an executive room for more... More

This hotel worked well as it was within walking distance of my conference. A bit run down and tired. I had a room on the business floors, plastic glasses, thin towels no fridge, no room service. Hmmmm. Service in the bar was very friendly and efficient, weekend concierge not a all helpful.

This hotel was paid 6 months in advance of arrival. After arrival they wanted a creditcard for security reasons. They withdraw 1500 Dollars, which were paid back after 9 days, despite that they admitted to have made a mistake. To discuss with them was a total Kafka experience with continuous reference to the "system". The room was not especially clean... More

I stayed here for 5 nights while on business and my stay was great. The location is fabulous only a 20 minute walk to old town and very close to the metro. The restaurant was great excellent food and fabulous friendly service. I would certainly stay again

Having stayed in this hotel several times whilst visiting Montreal for Canadiens games, not a bad word can be said about this hotel. The location is very convenient just on the edge of the Catherine Street nightlife area. There is a shopping centre and Metro station (Berri-UQAM) located below the hotel providing easy access to the whole city. Staff are... More

Location I was in Montreal on business and arrived Sunday night. The location could not be better! Right in the thick of it all on St Catherine's. There was a music festival and we had live music a few blocks away. The hotel is located in a very vibrant area. I had a great room that faced downtown so the... More

Stayed here two nights for the F1 races. The hotel is right next to the metro and a small shopping mall. Service was prefect. Every time we needed something the staff took care of us. I would stay here again. The rooms are a little dated.

Very comfortable room, plenty of towels and amenities. We were on a high floor with spectacular city views. Enjoyed the Kurig coffee maker. The only things missing were a small fridge and an in room safe. Would have enjoyed a second comfortable chair and hassock in the room.

The location is excellent for walking and getting around town, but it's really a low three stars. It's a less than picturesque location but it provides great access to trains and sightseeing. Small and dated but if all you need is a clean shower and linens this should do. Don't do the breakfast, downstairs is a wonderful grocery store with... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
