Perfect location, the front desk was very friendly and helpful and did I mention, location:) Right next to a food court, a grocery store and a drug store. St Catherine street has become a little seedy but never felt unsafe and very close to Old Town.

Hilarious. This place is Fawlty Towers-ish, with Jon Cleese in the restaurant instead of the front desk. I requested a quiet room ahead of time, as I was arriving very late, So they put me next to the lift. The shower was cold next morning, even though there was hot water in the basin. Some of the room lights didn’t... More

I spent a week in this hotel with my family during a business trip to Montreal and to say I was dissapointed is an understatement. At first things were fine, we were welcomed by a friendly guy at check in and all looked good. But sadly things got worse after that. Firstly the room was very dated and looked like... More

I stayed here while attending a conference. Check-in was quick and efficient except they initially forgot the rate included breakfast vouchers. The room was large, spacious and well equipped, but could have done with more than one tea capsule for the coffee machine. The breakfast (we had the healthy cold fruits, pastries, toast one included) was sufficient, however on several... More

Let's start with the Hotel itself, because this is why we all read reviews right? The front desk is small. The staff, though professional and friendly, seemed to have trouble quickly processing the line-up of new arrivals that grew and grew. We literally waited 40 mins to check in. It was painfully slowwwwwwwww - - put it this way -... More

This hotel is the right place to stay if you're going to the Race. You are right on the Metro line to the track and in a short cab ride everywhere else. There's a park across the street that has plenty of entertainment while we were there - not sure how it was late at night, but during the daytime... More

We had the opportunity to stay the evening at the Gouverneur Hotel Montreal. We arrived a bit early (1:00 pm) to check in and left our bags with the bell person. We returned after getting some lunch (about 3:00 pm) and room 2605 was ready for us. Check in was fast and courteous. Our room was average size carpeted with... More

I just returned from a long weekend, having stayed at the hotel on countless other occasions due to the location, service and price... my home-away-from-home. The hotel is located right on Ste Catherine next to a newly-renovated park that hosts free outdoor events as well as an open-air bar and snack bar; one block from the major UQAM-Berri Metro hub... Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
