Quiet room with two queens on 19 floor, had view of Olympic Stadium. Coffee maker and hair dryer, but no fridge. TV control has CC button !! The hotel is part of Place Dupius, and includes a bright bustling mall with drug store, grocery store, food court, all inside. The metro central with 4 lines are under us. Bilingual staff... More

This hotel has it all! 1- A parking lot for the visitors if they have a renting car 2- A supermarket "Jean Coutu" 3- Bunch of all sorts of restaurants (I tried the Tutti Frutti for breakfast, and Le Pacha as Lebanese cuisine) The staff is always helpful and smiley, the room is always clean, always has clean towels (morning... My wife and I booked this downtown Montreal hotel through Expedia. We requested a free room upgrade through an earlier email due to an odd mix of a family tragedy and also a celebration, and it was graciously granted. The location is excellent - right next to a major Metro (subway) station, which allows you to easily travel throughout Montreal.... More

The staff were nice, helpful and polite. We were upgraded to a room with a king size bed and received two coupons for free continental breakfast. Unfortunately, the hotel needs a good cleaning. Our room for example had multiple stains on the carpet, and chair. The coffee table had glass marks (that could have been wiped away), and dust on... More

So, you pay over two hundred dollars a night to stay at a hotel and one night out of three they don't even clean your room. However the maid still takes the tip. This hotel's condition is terrible. Most concerns were with the bathroom. Bathroom fan was so plugged up with lint that it shook the entire bathroom ceiling. I... More

I ended up having to book this hotel at the last minute because my original hotel in my travel package was a disaster . This is a lovely hotel. Staff is very friendly and bilingual. The A/C works PERFECT. The beds and linens are very comfy. I was on the 17th floor and it was great. I do wish they... More

We received a great rate via the "mystery hotel" feature on Hotwire - and my friend and I agree that we would not pay much more than what we paid for this place, let alone their full price tag. Location-wise, it doesn't get better than this in Montreal. The UQAM-Berri Metro station is directly below the hotel, there's also a... More

I was skeptical after reading a few reviews but must say the stay was a great surprise. I was upgraded to an business suite upon arrival on the 27th floor. Great views from the city!! The room was neat and clean and the bathroom was great! Also, the buffet breakfast was amazing. The staff was very courteous and specially Chantale... More

We chose booked Hotel Gouverneur Place Dupuis through a hotel discounter and very much looked forward to staying in the Latin Quarter, knowing that it would be "colourful". When we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist was not at all welcoming, especially when she discovered that we had booked through an outside seller. She advised our room would have 2... More

Very good location. Near to UQAM train station and Saint Catherine Street. Also is two blocks from Saint Denis Rue where you can find many restaurants and bars. The breakfast was ok. The service very kind and ready to help you.

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
