We were meeting with friends for the weekend to celebrate my birthday, this place was cheap and right at the end of Rue Saint-Catherine, which we couldn't have asked for something better for the occasion. As there was a bunch of us, we were not looking for something lavish or expensive, this place was ideal. The rooms are pretty standard,... More

I have utilized this hotel annually for the last 5 years and have always been satisfied. On this visit it was apparent that some of the standards seem to be slipping a little. Unlike on previous visits I found the towels very worn and thin. The mattress was in need of replacing as the hollows from years of service were... More

This was my worst hotel experience ever. The heat in our room made so much noise I could not sleep. At 4:00 am I still was not asleep so I went to to get another room but they said I would have to wake my boss up in order to move rooms, she's a heavy sleeper i'm not. I had... More

I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. I arrived at 11:15 am on a Saturday, and although my King Room was ready they did offer me a double room instead. I was happy to take this room after a 6 hour car ride, it was good to relax in my room before heading out for the day.... More

I spent 1 night here this past week in one of their superior rooms. Reasonably with the price they charge. Good location, clean, easy to get around. Continental breakfast was so so. It is better to go up to Plateau Mont Royal for breakfast/brunch. But overall good value.

I am not a picky traveler or used to 'fancy' hotels but this place was too disgusting for me.There are way better hotels in this prince range in better areas that aren't surrounded by drug dealers/users. Our room was filthy, the wardrobe/tv stand doors were broken and falling off. Bathroom was dirty with dirt layers on the toilet. Shower and... More

We only spent 1 night here but I wish that we could have stayed longer, the view was spectacular and mesmerizing, I could have spent more time just gazing out the window! It looks out at the mountain and straight down St Catherine St, beautiful. The hotel, I would say, is very good. The location is fantastic and the service... More

Well located near the center of downtown , historical sites , close to many restaurants and easy acces to highway and public transit . This hotel offers great price and great service . Great value, suggest the you invest a little more to have a suite on the upper lever. They gone through some recent changes.

I hadn't stayed at the Gouverneur in about five years. I was bringing my best male friend to Montreal for his 30th and knew that the location could not be better (in the gay village, a fifteen minute walk from Chinatown and Old Montreal), but the reviews worried me. The rate for a business class room included breakfast and was... More

Spent the weekend here. It is true, the hotel needs a major remodel. But our room was excellent, clean and comfortable. Right across the plaza from a metro stop as well as the airport bus stop. There are some homeless around, but they were not aggressive with us [as others have commented]. We would stay here again.
