This is a teaching hotel (never heard of one before), but the staff was all very good. The rooms were nice and the breakfast in the restaurant was very good. The location is really great for exploring Montreal.

We had a great stay at the hotel, it is very close to everything, right on Rue St. Denis - next to the Sherbrooke Metro station and within walking distance (a long walk) of Old Montreal. The rooms were well appointed and the staff was excellent. The breakfast in the morning is a welcome addition.

How can you be in a better location? Right in the middle of the Plateau and Latin Quarter. Easy walk to Old Montreal, downtown, McGill and Mont Royal. The Sherbrooke subway stop is under the bullding. The bus station and Enterprise Rent a Car is two blocks away. Lots of restaurants nearby. A beautiful park across the street. Our room,... More

This hotel is good value. It is well kept, clean, and located within walking distance of many points of interest. The included hot breakfast is more than adequate to get you started on your day. The bed was very comfortable.

The location was perfect to attend a conference held at UQAM , Very clean and excellent breakfast service. Quiet hotel Even during the beginning of the Jazz Festival days. The rooms are large, very well appointed and illuminated. The bath is very spacious and the shower is very good.

This is a great hotel, centrally located and is a teaching hotel for all services. We had excellent meals, breakfast was included, large rooms even stayed in a large suite with separate bedroom once. Have stayed there twice when attending the Montreal Jazz Festival and walked to most venues.

This is a remarkable property, well maintained, the best shower I've ever rented, but we stayed in the "off season" when the students were away and the level of service was, frankly, disappointing. We stayed two days, and asked for decaf coffee at the included breakfast to be told they didn't have any. What was over the top (or actually... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel de I'Institut. Pros: Great location - the location of this hotel couldn't be better. It is about 15 minute walk away from the old town and about 2 blocks away from the nightlife center. Also, the subway stop is basically right under the hotel so if you want you can get to any... We have been regular visitors at Hotel de l'Institut over the years . Long before it received all these good reviews on travel sites, it has always been a great value for money in Montreal and a hidden gem , so to speak… sadly , no more!!! Our last visit to this hotel was very disappointing and it is a... More
