my friend and i decided to take a trip to montreal and wanted to get a hotel within a $150/night budget, so we ended up booking this hotel thru priceline on a bid. when we arrived, we were told that we were upgraded to a deluxe double occupancy room with 2 beds on the 3rd floor. when we got to... We were in Montreal for a conference and the location next to Concordia was excellent. I rented a car for the day to see relatives out of town and used Direct rentals just around the corner. The staff at the Chateau were wonderfully kind and helpful. We had a lovely ground floor room with great natural light , the bed... More

We chose this hotel because of the old vintage charm and the proximity to all buzzing cafes ,hip restaurants , art galleries in the area. We got a room in 3rd floor and it was clean and cozy, just what we had expected. The staff at the reception were incredibly helpful explaining the attractions in the area. We enjoyed the... More

I loved staying here. It was quaint but convenient. The staff was always kind and accommodating. They even added sweet personal touches like fruit infused ice-water in the lobby. The rooms were comfortable and always kept clean and the breakfasts were tasty. They has the best croissants. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. Plus, it's close to lots of... More

The hotel had a charm that is only experienced with an older property and the location was lovely. It had most of the amenities of a newer hotel but during our 7 night stay the A/C, coffee maker and drapes needed some minor adjustments. If you are opposed to stairs, beware that there is no elevator. Probably the small ineffective... More

The Chateau Versailles is (or appears to be) a really beautiful boutique hotel converted from a group of large, adjacent townhomes. The décor and furnishings are classic European. Your stay will include continental breakfast and the hotel offers valet parking. The staff is very pleasant and professional. The only drawback is that the hotel does not have an elevator, so... This quaint hotel at the corner of Rue Sherbrooke and Rue Saint Michel is in the museum district, and within walking distance (two blocks) of a Metro subway station. We could walk to restaurants, museums, Mount Royal Park, the busy shopping and restaurant area of Rue Saint Catherine, or hop on the subway to anywhere. The staff are friendly and... More

I myself parked across the street between 6pm and noon for free on saturday...i was lucky. I was upgraded to the hotal suite because i found and old kleenex beside the bed and the wine... More

We enjoyed our stay and it's one of the quietest hotels as we had the double queen suite at the back. It was quaint but clean and beds were comfortable with nice soft sheets. Continental breakfast was standard fare and the complimentary afternoon tea was just tea bags with hot water dispenser and a tray of plain cookies so nothing... More

Loved my stay here. My only issue was the breakfast. Hotels that are not as nice offer waffle makers and more options. My room was clean and my bed was very comfortable. If I'm ever in Montreal again I will stay here.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
