This Best Western Ville Marie Hotel is in a good area near a Metro station and also near McGill University. The front desk staff and bellman were always very, very helpful and pleasant. In particular, Ricardo, Simon, and the two young ladies who were at the front desk the morning of the holiday, on June 24th, made our stay a... More

Arrived on a very wet evening to a warm welcome from the helpful GM and checked into a functional but very spacious room. Service in the bar was fun, friendly and expensive. Our room neighbours were three shrieking girls who returned to the hotel at around 3.50am only to sing, shout and shriek some more for another hour. Walls must... More

I was in Montreal for four days and stayed here at the recommendation of some friends who I've in the area as the hotel was well-located for the event I was attending. It's a five minute walk from McGill University and the Metro, as well as underground Montreal. The Metro is very important because driving or taking a taxi in... More

Stayed here for a conference May 23 to 27 2013. My wife and 3-month old baby accompanied me. Playpen put in room and staff went out of their way to help us. Richard at the front desk, and Carlos the Valet clearly love their jobs and went out of their way to be helpful. After checking out from a great... More

We booked this hotel for a bachelor party in Montreal. It was located in walking distance from a lot of bars, restaurants. The hotel was cleaner and nicer than expected. The rooms were a good size my only issue was if you take your car valet will take 20 + minutes to get your car since they use an off... More

Say hello to Richard on the front desk as this guy seems to really love his job. Richard is a great ambassador for Montreal & is in the know about what to see & do. The room was great & fairly priced clean & well appointed. Decent breaky in the Hotel restaurant as well --really super crispy bacon --mmmmm

We visited the BEST WESTERN Ville-Marie Hotel & Suites in Montreal during our trip through Canada and the U.S.A. by car. Since we arrived by car it was very that we could use the valet parking service. We had a standard double room at the hotel, but weren't really statisfied about the room. The room was very dirt with alot... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
