Staff very friendly, knowledgeable. Room was very affordable considering we were there during festival week. Very clean and roomy considering we had our two grandchildren ages 16 and 14 with us with all of the stuff teenagers bring. Pool area was small.

I came here with my fiancé and we only stayed one night. It was in a great location and it was a great experience overall. We had a room on the 4th floor, and it was nice and spacious. We were a bit worried it would be noisy outside, but it wasn't too bad.

Our stay at the Best Western on Peel St in Montreal exceeded all expectations. The location was perfect, the hotel was clean and well kept, the staff were tremendous and I would definitely return again in the future! The most memorable part of our stay was most certainly the people. After a four night stay, we became well known to... More

Great location close to McGill University, downtown shopping, nightlife and sights. Very clean and comfortable, good rates, Wifi is free and strong. Staff is efficient and friendly. Breakfast not included but can be taken on the property, and Lise is ever so nice and friendly!

The place is clean (clean shower/restroom and beds) and has a great location and the rates are reasonable. It is easily accessible and is located at a great part of the town, next to McGill, Museum of fine arts, and within walking distance of the old town. On the other hand, it is old and badly needs a renovation (both... More

This is an excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. If you stay make sure you meet a valet by the name of Julien. He is terrific. He made suggestions for all the restaurants we went to and he was right on every account. He booked our bus tour and gave us perfect directions with the metro or by... More

We seemed to arrive at a bad time, so check-in was a bit slower and less pleasant. Check-out was fast, easy and friendly. Valet parking is the only option. On check-in, we unloaded and used the trolley to take up our own bags without comment. On check-out the bellman didn't want to trust me with the trolley to go up... More

This hotel is in a wonderful location close to museums, shopping, and public transportation. The room was large, clean and beautiful. The bathroom was large also. The concierge was helpful in obtaining reservations for us at Au Pied de Cochon. The front desk was friendly and also helpful in recommending a wonderful restaurant for the next day. Whenever we asked,... More

The room was excellent, the hotel was near everything we wanted to see, and the staff was excellent considering the crowds in town for the many festivals. A special kind word for the valet person named Bagrahm. Apologies for the probable misspelling.

The hotel is on such a busy street but the Valet service & Danny at the front desk checked us in and out quickly and easily. We ate at both restaurants. We had fine dining one evening in the hotel restaurant Zawedah, it was excellent and we had breakfast all 3 mornings in the hotel as well at Café Castel,... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
