The rooms were very nice, very clean, and plenty of room for me and my family. We had 5 people total, 3 adults and 2 children and had plenty of room to move around without bumping into each other. Staff was very friendly and helpful with directions or any other question that we had.

We had a suite with wood floor. Looked very nice, clean, bathroom was small but had all the amenities. We are a family of four that prefers suites and large room so this hotel was perfect for us. We arrived before check in time but we could leave the luggage there and visit Old Montreal in the meantime. The elevators... More

This hotel is not the best hotel but it has all the amenities we needed for our long trip. It was nice to have a kitchen. They had a small pool, gym, and sauna. Some people in the previous reviews complained about the carpet and cracked walls. It is true that the walls, bathroom, and carpet can be updated but... More

Stayed for 2 nights in mid August. If you are driving there really isn't any parking out front, so you have to have someone sit in the car while someone else checks in. Front desk checked me in quickly, paid the $18 for parking and $5 for wifi. Parking garage is very tight, so if you have a big car... More

Nice and close to the subway station so it is handy for visiting all of Montreal. Booked through Hotwire mystery. Would not pay full price. Cons: Hotel is tired, chipped paint, old. Small and slow elevators. Good points- bed was clean and comfortable. Toilet, sink and tub clean. Kitchenette very clean and very handy! All staff friendly and helpful! Would... More

La Tour Belvedere was a tremendous disappointment. It was unclean, under-equipped and our unit had undergone renovations which looked like they had been performed by a carpenter's assistant. We had a faulty smoke detector which would go off for no reason. Staff came and removed it and then allowed us to sleep in the room without it for a night... More

I was charged $271 a night. Which I don't mind paying at all. But boy, I'll tell you. Room 105. This hotel owner and staff should be ashamed of themselves. As soon as we went into the first floor lobby, I knew something was wrong. First, It smells like an infestation of dead rats. I opened the door, wow. I... More

We stayed here over august long, with limited selection of hotels that weekend we ended up paying over $200 a night to stay here. This room is so old and falling apart. We were on the second floor and The balcony was just shingles on top of the lower level roof. It was full of cigarette Butts and beer cans.... More

I stayed in room 1801 with my wife and daughter. The positives: The room rate was very reasonable and the hotel is conveniently situated 2 blocks from the Atwater Metro. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. Now the negatives. We are arrived and were given the wrong room, one with one double bed instead of... More

My wife and I stayed 3 nights. The hotel was clean, quiet, and had no funky smells. Some people reviewed that it was run down. Our group was on the 19th and 21st floors and we have no complaints. Keep in mind it's and older building that used to be apartments, so it doesn't have the polish a high end... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
