Perfect location for touring Old Town Montreal. Valet parking is provided and it is worth every penny. We found that you could walk faster than driving so we never used our car during our stay. Restaurants and all of the historical attractions are easily within walking distance and it is fun to just walk the cobble stone streets. Make sure... More

The hotel was lovely. Nice lobby. Inside the room, there was a bar fridge, microwave, and stovetop. The bathroom was nice, though a bit small. The bed was extremely comfortable. We got a great night's sleep. Breakfast is included and was pretty good. A lot of variety. Something for everyone. Also, the fitness centre was decent. It wasn't busy when... More

A college reunion at nearby McGill University was originally what drew me to reserve the Residence Inn Montreal Downtown and returned happy with the hotel and visit to Montreal. Room 1003 is a king bed plus a twin sofa bed and as I was sharing with a family member opted for the sofa bed which was a little on the... More

Easy walk, about 6 blocks, if you're taking the 747 bus (stop is Rue Peel) from YUL; and just around the corner from Peel Métro station. The reception desk staff is very friendly and professional. Rooms are clean, beautifully appointed, kitchen has everything you'd need. And the beds were so comfortable that I checked the label to see the mattress... More

So I love Marriott locations. This hotel is a good location and great rooms. As for the experience it started out well but went down hill. We showed up around 1130 and there were no rooms ready. This was expected as check is not until 3. They stated that they would call us when a room was ready. They informed... More

This was the shortest hotel stay I ever had but the process was so professional and easy I would definitely stay here again. The location of the hotel was perfect - right in downtown area. It is very close to shopping and entertainment district. The staff didn't stand out at all of the extraordinary except for Richard (the one who was working over night) . This Marriott is fantastic! Great location - walking distance to everything in downtown Montréal. Beautiful hotel, well-maintained, clean, and fantastic and friendly staff. It's like a home away from home. Very comfortable beds, and plenty of space. BUT(!!) I have to deduct two stars for the parking. If you drive a tall SUV (anything higher than 5'10"), you cannot park... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
