I booked this hotel because it was close to what I wanted to see (Old Montreal) and it was an excellent price for being right in the city. My standard room was small compared to American rooms, but big enough for myself and a friend. Clean and nicely decorated. The staff were all very pleasant, and went out of their... More

Small hotel within steps of the Sherbrook Metro station and St. Denis restaurants. Friendly reservation and concierge staff - plenty of recommendations on places to eat, things to see and how to travel to get where you want to go. Say hello to Shirley, who will serve you breakfast and after a day knows exactly what you want. Clean. Prices... More

It's very hard to find a room with places for a Mom & Dad and 2 kids who cannot share the same bed for a price that is reasonable. Chateau de L'Argoat has just that! We love quaint hotels too! The room was clean, quiet, and perfect for our night away. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast in the... More

We stayed here for three nights with our two young daughters. The hotel was very accommodating when it turned out that we were adding another night AND our daughters were coming with us. We were on the third floor in a double queen room with a huge 2-3-person jacuzzi. The hotel was quiet, the maid service attentive, and the continental... More

I almost hate to review this hotel, as I don't want everyone to know about it! Beautiful, clean rooms, great staff. We stayed across from the desk in the front of the house. The room had a second door, so corridor noises were not an issue. We were right at street level and did not find traffic noise bothersome at... More

Stayed here New Year's Eve with my husband. Nice and accommodating front desk staff. Our room was on the first floor facing Sherbrooke St. Lovely window view and I was happy we were on the first floor as there is no Elevator. Room was charming and nice Décor. Old fashioned Brass bed and very comfortable to sleep on. Bathroom was... More

Le Chateau de L’Argoat (don’t ask me what the name means) is by far our preferred accommodation in Montreal. It’s a small Hotel located on Rue Sherbrooke Est very close to the entertainment district on Rue St. Denis and within walking distance of Old Montreal, Chinatown and most other attractions in and around downtown Montreal. If you don’t like walking,... More

Dear Sir, Thank you for your review. This is what ARGOAT means: it is a name of Celtic origin. Argoat indicates ''internal'' Brittany (west of France), the foresested interior, as opposed to Armor, or ''littoral'' Brittany. Once again thank you and we hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again at L'ARGOAT ! Gilles / Manager More

Great location. Friendly people (bilingual). Old architecture style, but everything like the taps, lights and plugs were all in good shape. Decent price, too. We ended up in what was likely a reading room when it was a house - 2 glass doors as entry, a large fireplace and a bay window that spanned the entire street-side of the room.... More

L'Argoat is a small, modest hotel on Sherbrooke. Short walk to bus station, across the street from Metro. Rooms are clean & comfortable, some large, and all have private bath. A few blocks from the Latin Quarter, for funky restaurants & bars. Near fashionable Rue St-Denis and a few more blocks to Blvd St-Laurent and all its great restaurants. This... More

My friend and I travel once a year as part of a university girls reunion weekend. This past November we stayed at Chateau de l'Argoat. Everything was outstanding but what made this place stand out was the kindness of the owners. Unfortunately, I had left some belongings in a drawer and realized it only upon my arrival home in Toronto.... More

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
