I picked this B&B quite by chance, having done very little preparation ahead of my trip. As luck would have it there was a spare room and the place turned out to be just about perfect. The welcome was genuinely warm and the rooms very comfortable with good wi-fi. Breakfast was always good and tasty and something of a social... More

Lucie was the most welcoming of hosts! This b&b is ideally located in a quiet, tree lined, lovely street next to all the excitement of Montreal and within 5 mn walk of the Mont Royal metro station. The rooms are cozy and clean, and the breakfasts delicious, one morning croissants, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruits, jams, etc, and the next, bagels... More

My 2 children and I stayed at Shezelles and were thrilled. The place is very charming and the owners were knowledgeable, very helpful, and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. We hope to return many, many times in the years to come.

Shezelles cancelled our confirmed reservation one night before and did not make up for it. We went out during the day and were tired when we were back to the hotel in Quebec after 9p.m.. Especially I was not very comfortable and wanted to go to bed immediately. But as a routine, I still checked my email and was shocked... More

Our stay at this B&B was wonderful! The hosts were kind, warm and very knowledgable. They immediately provided us with terrific restaurant options, maps, and other city events for us to explore. Breakfast was healthy and delicious. The B&B is decorated beautifully and the room was just what we needed. The location is near perfect. You can walk most places... More

This is an amazing B&B. The owners are friendly and engaging while still respecting your privacy and space. We stayed in the "Sky Room" which had it's own private outdoor deck and windows on nearly all sides. Truly breathtaking. This B&B is very gay friendly and liberal--we discussed the state of gay rights and gender equality across the world over... More

We were extremely impressed with Shezelles B&B. They hostesses were lovely and welcoming. The facilities were impeccably maintained. I have never stayed at a cleaner, better kept location in Montreal. Breakfast was freshly baked each morning along with other healthy selections. We were a block away from the metro and free parking for our car was simple to find. We... More

My wife and I experienced a wonderful time during the Gran Prix weekend. An ideal location with the friendliest of Hostesses. Breakfast was delicious and the bed was very comfortable. A beautiful backyard and quiet surroundings. We will be returning next year!

Our first visit to Montreal couldn't have been nicer. Shezelles was the perfect choice, comfortable accommodations, lovely French breakfasts with fresh fruit, croissants, yogurt, cereals, choice of beverages. Lucy, the owner, has been operating this BnB for over 20 years and was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and sharing stories about Montreal. It is fun to sit around the breakfast... More

Top BnB for LOCATION, welcome, comfort, and warmth. We stayed 4 nights and we were absolutely delighted. This is a real jewel of a place. We would definitely come here again. The rooms are decorated in a relaxed bohemian style which matches completely with the cheerful hospitality of the hostesses Lucie and Lyne who are bi-lingual so French and English... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
