We got the room for a hundred a night by booking 4 months in advance. I think summer rate is 200+ a night. The room/suite we had was big and think they all are large . I think the building was a small factory or warehouse a hundred years ago so it had a painted concrete floor, concrete walls and... More

My girlfriend and i drove from Long Island Labor Day weekend (roughly a 6.5 hr drive). Located in the Latin Quarter the hotel is stylish and has a uniqueness all its own, from the spacious loft guest room to the elevator with lounge chairs and mirrors that resembled a small lounge. The location was good with lots of bars and... More

I stayed there for a night last winter. The place is great. On St-Denis street, downtown and close to many thing. The room is great, really, it's a loft. Laboratory kitchen, a living room with 2 sofas and a nice bed. When I was there it was very quiet. The draw back, can be hard to find, there was a... More

Great location on the upper part of the rue saint Denis where you will find restaurants & bars. You are also close to the Berry Uqam tube station. The rooms are BIG and nicely furnished, wooden floors high ceilings. Friendly staff. Didn't try the breakfast

Perfect place to discover the city. Big rooms and friendly staff. Thanks to the owner for showing all the hotel. In the early days it was a Ford garage and you can see still some parts of it. Eg the elevator with painting from the 20's. Also perfect for party.

This place definitely lives up to its name. The room was enormous with 5 modest sizes chandeliers, panoramic view, and brand new bathroom. The room was clean, modern and had a small bar fridge. Very minimalist interior design. More space than you know what to do with. Great location in the famous latin quarter and walking distance to the metro.... More

Stayed at this hotel in a Urban Loft in February. The room was exceptional huge, but as other reviews stated the TV is so far from the Bed. One set of lights were not working at all; it stays bright for a few seconds, then just starts flickering as if the place is haunted. The toilet doesn't flush properly; it... More

I spend roughly 1/3 of my year in hotel rooms, and have done so for years. Of the thousands of rooms I've frequented, the one at Loft Hotel was among the most comfortable and best appointed. It was an extraordinary space, more akin to a great apartment than a one night place to crash. The hotel is ideally situated, just... More

I booked the Loft Hotel on the recommendation of a friend. First the good: The room was huge. As big as many Montreal apartments I'd guess. It was an open concept, but the bed area was closed off some by shelving. The couch was leather and very comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed and full size. The shower was large... More

I was struggling to find a hotel in Montreal since I had no idea about the city, the area or the province. I went through Hotwire and lucked out. The Loft Hotel is tucked away, down a short alley way from the main street and is surrounded by residential apartments. Everything that has been written is true. The room I... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
