Nice hostel, all clean, pretty decoration. Amazing breakfast, the bar is also awesome! Very close to the main subway station! Ps: don't gave 5 because the place wasn't that easy to find when I came at the city.

A very nice hostel! The lounge and bar in the basement was fabulous. The room was clean and I liked that there was extra bathrooms in the hall as it made it easy to access the washroom at any time. I found the price was a little expensive (probably jacked up as I was there during a festival). And there... More

The hostel is located right at the heart of the gay village, I arrived during a pride festival without realising and was surprised to see near-naked guys and extravagant cross-dressers wandering around the hostel. But the area is definitely not just for LGBT folk, the street nearby (rue St Catherine) is normally used as a pedestrian mall and there are... More

The Village is a cool place to visit, with easy acess to other villages and the METRO. I had a 4 bed co-ed dorm room w our own bathroom. The dorm mates were easy to get along with, and the other travelers were also friendly. The staff were great, the breakfast and the bar too. Cheers!

The M Montreal was a really nice hostel to stay while I visited Montreal for two days. It was easy to get to by public transit, and within walking distance of good restaurants and shopping areas. The staff was kind and helpful, the beds were comfy, and breakfast was pretty reasonable. The only real problem I had was that the... More

This hostel is clean, has excellent amenities, is in a good location and had exceptional staff. For the price you'd be hard-pressed to beat it in north America. Clean towels every day, air conditioning (!), okay bar in the basement and reasonable free breakfast.

I stayed in a 4-bed dorm and the experience was excellent. The room had air conditioning and was very comfortable. In addition to the en suite there are numerous bathrooms and showers scattered around the building and everything was clean. Towels included was a plus and they were clean, in good condition and replaced daily. The breakfast was basic but... More

This hostel is clean, modern and we'll maintained. The staff are helpful and friendly except for the morning breakfast male staff who is a bit arrogant and not so service oriented. The room is spacious enough for everyone. There is a locker for you to put your valuables. Location us great right in downtown and near to many restaurants and... More

I have stayed a many hostels around the world, but the atsmosphere and quest who stayed here were great. When I stay at hostels I meet other young people who know how to travel on a budget. At this location I ran into someone from Boston who travels many times between Boston and Montreal and he shared how to ride... More

Perfect location, right in the middle of everything. I stayed in a 6 bed female dorm, which was a good size and always clean. The ensuite bathroom was big also but the only problem I had was that the sink was tiny with a shelf over it so you couldn't get your head close enough for washing your face etc... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
