This is one of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful, it was extremely clean and updated, and we felt very safe. I would highly recommend it, and would definitely stay here again.

Incredible place to stay, I was traveling solo for the first time lol, and my 1st time in Montreal in over 5 years. The staff here are courteous and friendly, when I checked in they showed me around and assured me of any questions to be asked for any spots near by. The place was well put and clean, I... More

On my first visit to Montreal, which was New Year's Eve weekend, I had an incredible time, due in part to the magnificent staff at M Montreal. Serena, Sean, Max and Claude were great characters that added to the personality of the hostel. As far as hostels go, this one was on the higher end. Very clean, very accommodating and... More

I stayed at M Montreal for about a week during the Holidays in December. I stayed in a spacious 8 person dorm that was equipped with comfortable and clean beds, bed lights, free wifi, its own washroom and a mini fridge! The common areas are equally as spacious and offer a really comfortable and safe feeling space. The free breakfast... More

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were clean, all of them, every time. The beds and living area were also kept clean. The location really is great, being minutes away from the Berri UQAM metro stop (connects three metro lines!), a grocery store, bars/restaurants and a dollar store. I had a very pleasant stay, 3 nights in... More

As far as hostels go, M is hard to go past for your stay in Montreal. I stayed in a four bed dorm for two days. On arrival the room was very clean, with fresh linen and towels neatly placed on each bed. The bathroom was small but also very clean. The room had a large flat screen TV, multiple... More

Stayed here for 6 days during the off season in December 2015 and normally I don't book a hostel for so many nights so I can stay at a few places while in a city but this place was highly recommended and it was awesome! The hostel is very new and the rooms are new and all the facilities are... More

Stayed in both a private twin room, and a four bed dorm. Both came with modern bathrooms, flat screen TVs and bar fridges. Staff were really friendly, and helpful when we had an issue with a room. The breakfast was solid, with toast, croissants, boiled eggs, and off course maple syrup. The bar and common areas were unfortunately lacking in... More

I stayed there for one night. The receptionists were okay but the rooms were too crowded and cramped. Although I reserved a 4 bed room, which was the least crowded one, I didn't have any space, It felt like a good dormitory. And with tax and everything I paid 30$ CA. It was expensive for one night anyway.

I stayed at the Montreal Central hostel twice already and I didn't have any problems with my stay there. First time I was backpacking with a friend in Quebec and we stayed at the Montreal Central in one of theirs mixed dorms and we're surprised with their accommodation. Second time, I was travelling with my father and I chose to... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
