This hostel was really really great. Clean and new looking rooms, clean linens, bathroom in our own room that we shared with a few other friendly guests, a really great bar in the basement with live music, comedy shows, karaoke, etc on different nights, and a pretty solid complimentary breakfast. Great location next to St. Catherine, close to the bustling... More

I stayed here for 3 nights last March and when I decided to return to Montreal in the spring, M hostel was a give. For accommodation. Great location, really friendly and helpful staff, clean, free breakfast and wifi. I wish all hostels were this good.

From the moment I arrived all staff were so helpful and friendly. Really great funky vibe, new decor and fab little bar downstairs. So clean and tidy plus the free tea and coffee is a nice touch. Kitchen has everything you might need and apart from the free wifi you can also use a brand new Mac computer to surf... More

Stayed here as a solo traveler for a few days. The atmopshere is perfect, and the nightly events are great. The bar downstairs is a great place to hang out and meet other travelers. The walking tour is actually pretty good compared to some other free hostel tours I´ve taken. Rooms are clean, and my room had a recently rennovated... More

Cross between a hostel and a hotel. They even service your room! Pleasant clean, secure room. Lots of common space. Offer fun organized entertainment. Nice funky feel to place. Staff were super helpful. Ok basic breakfast. Convenient location. Good facilities.

The hostel is clean and the breakfast is good (croissant, Coffee, tea, waffle, maple syrup, toast and jam). The bar is a good option when you are lazy or its too Cold to go outside (everyday they have a different kind of event in the bar). The location is near the bus station, it helps to get the public transport but there... Good location, great atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing facilities! I really loved my stay there and would come back if I ever visit Montreal again :) The bar downstairs is a very lively place and hosts many interesting events (eg. concerts, parties). You can't get bored :)

I stayed here for two nights with some friends and we had a great time. We shared a 4-bed dorm that had its own bathroom which was very comfortable and clean. The bar downstairs was a lot of fun and the atmosphere is really good. The area seemed safe enough and its near the university so there is a lot... More

I found this hostel while looking for an affordable hotel. We went to Montreal in Feb. The hostel was clean and the private twin bed room with bathroom was clean, warm & perfect for 2! The bar/lounge in the basement was super cool with fabulous music 24/7. The staff was super friendly & helpful and the location was right off... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
