Good location, great atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing facilities! I really loved my stay there and would come back if I ever visit Montreal again :) The bar downstairs is a very lively place and hosts many interesting events (eg. concerts, parties). You can't get bored :)

I stayed here for two nights with some friends and we had a great time. We shared a 4-bed dorm that had its own bathroom which was very comfortable and clean. The bar downstairs was a lot of fun and the atmosphere is really good. The area seemed safe enough and its near the university so there is a lot... More

I found this hostel while looking for an affordable hotel. We went to Montreal in Feb. The hostel was clean and the private twin bed room with bathroom was clean, warm & perfect for 2! The bar/lounge in the basement was super cool with fabulous music 24/7. The staff was super friendly & helpful and the location was right off... More

I stayed here for two nights on a quick trip to Montreal to see my beloved Canadiens smash the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-0 (GO HABS GO!). I was astonished at how many people were here, even on a waaaay off-month like February. Anyway, all of the important things that one needs in a hostel were on point. Decent beds, a... More

I arrived and faced the very friendly staff. The rooms are very clean and they come every day and take a look on the rooms condition. They also change the towel every day what I really liked. The TV, the Mini fridge and the shared bathroom for the room only are also very convenient. Everything is designed very welcoming and... More

Location was great, easy access to metro, close to the central bus station, walking distance to a lot of great areas of Montreal. Hostel itself was clean and comfortable - a good base for a couple days.

We stayed here in October 2014 for 3 nights in a 4 bed mixed dorm with ensuite. This is definitely the best hostel I've stayed in. It was EXCELLENT value for money. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was quiet, modern and clean with a couple of extra little touches to make the stay more... More

Staff were really nice and very helpful. Breakfast was great. Room was very clean and comfy. The bar downstairs is a great idea! Location was a tad strange but we could walk almost anywhere. Stayed in December in a 4 bed share private bathroom.

This is quite possibly one of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. I stayed in a dorm with 10 beds, and the room had its own bathroom (which was clean!), each person was given a towel, and each bed had its own lamp. The place was newly rennovated and was decorated very trendy. The bar area downstairs was also great.... More

My best friend and I took a girls trip to Montreal and ended up staying here. Best overall value for the area and it isn't too far of a walk to great destinations or subway service. The bar area is nice and we met a lot of great people. The hotel also had a lot of social events to liven... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
