I have stayed a many hostels around the world, but the atsmosphere and quest who stayed here were great. When I stay at hostels I meet other young people who know how to travel on a budget. At this location I ran into someone from Boston who travels many times between Boston and Montreal and he shared how to ride... More

Perfect location, right in the middle of everything. I stayed in a 6 bed female dorm, which was a good size and always clean. The ensuite bathroom was big also but the only problem I had was that the sink was tiny with a shelf over it so you couldn't get your head close enough for washing your face etc... More

I stayed here for two nights with friends. The rates for hotels in Montreal were high, and we wanted to stay somewhere fairly inexpensive. I read many reviews of this hotel on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. The hotel doubles as both a hotel and a hostel. They have bunk beds and private rooms. We booked two... More

It's been about 10 years since I've last stayed in a hostel but I really enjoyed my experience at M Montreal. The staff was friendly, the rooms were nice and clean and there was plenty of entertainment. The breakfast was great and included boiled eggs. It's in a great location and you can walk to a lot of places in... More

I was surprised by the nearly everything at this hostel. It was clean, very nice and freindly staff, clean and very nice looking rooms, well working wifi, simple breakfast in a fancy bar. They also offered an historic walk through Montreal for free. This tour was very informative and its for free. It could be a little less informative and... More

Of all my many MANY months travelling, this is the hostel that still stands out to me. The price is incredibly reasonable given the quality of the rooms and the facilities are truly fantastic! Definitely make sure to check out the events downstairs as they're always an absolute blast

For an hostel, it's Beautiful decoration, very clean (especially bathroom very clean) good service, friendly people, lively, but quiet at night. It's in downtown, near the gay village, beautiful area, with several restaurants, bars and attractions nearby.

I've stayed in quite a few hostels in Canada and this is by far the best I've been to. Very clean, modern and comfortable rooms, and the hostel is in a great location - just a few minutes walk from Rue Ste Catherine and the main metro stop for the city (Berri-UQAM). Decent breakfast offered (toast, croissants, juices, etc) and... More

What a wonderful place!!! Not your average hostel at all. The first and second floor are very modern, the kitchen is beautiful and the room & facilities are impeccably clean. The staff is friendly, and there's an awesome bar downstairs! The bar is adorably decorated, hosts live bands but don't worry you won't hear a peep upstairs - this is... More

This is one of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed at, and it feels more like a boutique hotel. The breakfast was great and the events at the bar in the evening were fun, with great happy hour prices on beer. Our room was a four person with a bathroom at the end of the hall. It was quiet and... Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
