Within easy walking distance of the Village and close to the metro, this is very well located in a quiet street that's nevertheless only a little way set back from some main thoroughfares. The place is LGBT-friendly and very welcoming. It's beautifully appointed as well, and full of winding corridors and staircases. The breakfast room and back garden are a... More

Just returned from another great stay, Michael, Luc and Jonathan were attentive as always. It is a fantastically maintained and wonderful place to stay. Located in the gay village close to the metro, Chinatown and Old Montreal. Perfect place to relax and enjoy Montreal.

My girlfriend and I visited Montreal for a weekend getaway and decided to stay at La Conciergerie. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what to expect given the relatively inexpensive price of the rooms. I've had previous experiences in which the pictures of a hotel on a website are a bit deceptive, and you end up disappointed upon arrival.... More

My wife and I went up to the Women's World Cup and kicked into la Conciergie. Great location and a very reasonable price. Walking distance to 2 Metro stops. FYI to all they are not "gay only". Great innkeeper very friendly and VERY helpful. We will be back

I stayed at the La Conciergerie in June and just loved it! Luc was extremely nice and the smell of fresh baked bread was delicious! My room was very nice and had a great balcony on it that we could enjoy at the end of the day. It was a beautiful building and all the accommodations were really nice and... More

FANTASTIC PLACE TO STAY! This b&b is BEAUTIFUL inside and out with well decorated rooms and gorgeous terraces and a rooftop that must be seen. The hosts are sincerely the best around. They were helpful and so kind and very welcoming even when we arrived late at night. They also provide a brunch each day (cereal, pastries, fruit, juices, coffee).... More

Spent a week here and really can't complain. The building is well built. You can't hear what's going on in the other rooms. I've been to B&B's with paper thin walls and was expecting the worst. The internet was spotty, but it did appear they had someone fixing the next morning. The breakfast is a standard B&B breakfast. This is... More

I've visited Montreal often before, but I had never stayed at La Conciergerie. It is a relatively large guesthouse comprised of two adjoining buildings within two blocks of the Berri-Uqam Metro Station, a transfer point for several metro lines and a short distance from the St. Catherine St. village. The rooms are simple but attractive and clean. The breakfast includes... More

We chose this guesthouse according to its description in the internet, but we were disappointed by the lack of service, the small room (although it was called "suite") and the very simple breakfast, which consisted of canned food only, no fresh bread or fruit, only a boiled egg, some gummy croissant, butter, 2 sorts of jam, filter coffee, no hot... Dear SunSafari, We were disappointed in reading your review of our guest house. Since your name, Sunsafari, gives us no idea of who you are, we can only assume that you critiqued the wrong place. Nothing, absolutely nothing, comes from a can on our breakfast counter, we do serve hot water for tea, you just have to ask, and there... More

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
