We've just completed a 2 night stay here ( Mum & Dad plus girls 4 & 6 ) having flown in tired & hungry from London. We cannot fault this hotel, superb room and truly fantastic staff who bent over backwards to be helpful.

Arrived on an early flight to Montreal, early checking not a problem. The concierge would email once the room was ready. Had the $15 3 course breakfast! Great value and very tasty! Visited the main restaurant the following evening and had the 7 course menu. Again excellent. All the staff from concierge through to waiters and waitresses were discreet, helpful... More

Small, quiet boutique hotel with great restaurant attached. Immaculate adequately sized room with European decor and comfy bed. Service friendly and most helpful. Three course delicious hot breakfast included. Dinner delicious. Location right around the corner from Notre Dame cathedral. Close to metro stop. Every time we returned, it felt like home. Only drawback was music at Mexican restaurant across... More

We stayed in a room facing Rue Saint Francois Xavier. The room was very quiet and spacious with a large bathroom including spa tub/shower. Parking is conveniently located near the hotel and they have a fantastic restaurant with outstanding service! We had dinner there and the breakfast which was included in room rate was also excellent. There are many other... More

I consider myself a world traveler and would certainly recommend this hotel. For a boutique hotel in old town we felt the price was reasonable. As stated, it is located in charming old town, around corner from basilica, a very short walk from the nightlife on rue St. Paul. Great location, near all. Walk to metro. Breakfast was an excellent... More

We stayed at this quaint boutique hotel for four nights, but could have stayed for weeks. Everything about the place was wonderful: the delicious breakfast ( included ), the location in Old Montreal, the friendly staff, the old world charm, and the comfortable rooms. But most of all, we appreciated the helpfulness of the staff. They were thorough and patient,... More

This hotel sports a great location in old Montréal, just steps away from the pedestrian area, and a wide range of dining, shopping and visiting options. The rooms are spacious and clean, with high ceilings and thick stone walls that block the street noise very effectively. A full breakfast was included with our rate, served in the attached restaurant. The... More

I did plenty of research (mainly on TripAdvisor, of course) before selecting Auberge Bonaparte as our hotel for a recent three night stay. If you are in the process of doing the same type of search, and the price points are similar, there's "no need to look elsewhere." My wife and I were assigned to Room #403, in the back,... More

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of the Old City. The staff is friendly, the room beautiful and the free breakfast is amazing!! We chose this hotel from reviews and were not disappointed. Highly recommend.

Just read all the others. Perfect in every way. Beautiful classy room/hotel without being stuffy or 'frou-frou'. I do agree with one review that a room safe and fridge would be ideal. Maybe no fridge for fear of ruining the beautiful floors?? Full Breakfast was a surprise-Was expecting continental. Also didn't know about gym privileges so was not prepared. Love... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
