There was a lot riding on my stay at Novotel Montreal Centre this past weekend. More than anything else it was a test-drive of the Novotel brand itself; Thanks to a credit card perk I have a Platinum membership in Accor’s Le Club loyalty program, but after a less-than-ideal experience at an Ibis property in Hong Kong I wasn’t sure... My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was like a refuge after spending 13 plus hours on Amtrak making our way from NYC to Montreal. Montreal is a great city and the French speaking locals are extremely gracious with us English speaking out-of-towners. Their ability to switch back and fourth between French and English is... More

Hi all, I spent a week at this hotel and I had a really good time. The room was fairly big and luxurious. The breakfast is also amazing with a large choice between breads, fruits, vegetables, cereals etc. I do really enjoy this hotel and I strongly recommend it.

One night stay to see Montreal Canadiens hockey game. Very friendly and efficient front desk staff. Room very modern and clean. Had snack in bar after game. Good service, again very friendly staff. Would stay again.

Stayed here for a long weekend with friends and had a great experience. Friend and I shared the room with the king size bed and pullout soda for only about $100 US a night, while 3 other friends also comfortably share a room this size as well. The view wasn't great, but it's not like we spent a lot of... More

I traveled to Montreal with a group of friends for a weekend. I chose this hotel because the titled suggested it was in the center of the city. My first thought upon arrival was, "Oh no we are in the middle of the financial district, full of construction and nothing to do"... Boy was I wrong! one street over you... More

Can't say anything negative really- It's a basic hotel experience. Everything was clean, the place is quiet, beds are very comfy and I loved the wooden floor in the bathroom. Of note is the restaurant which has excellent food and service. The portions are very large and all was fresh and delicious. Thanks Novotel

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
