Although it was one of the warmest Christmases at home as well as here, the historic feel of old port, stone walls and warm accents made this stay a perfect Christmas destination. The lobby is warm and petite as well but the perfect scene for when it did finally start to snow. It was a stunning picture perfect sight looking... More

Four couples spent one night here on our way back from Mont Tremblant. We could not have been happier. Great rooms (large, excellent beds; wonderful multi-level shower sprays; hardwood floors, which were a real plus; bathrobes). Staff was very helpful. Terrific location in the old town with many superb restaurants and art galleries within walking distance. Highly recommend and definitely... More

perfect hotel for quick, stress free weekend getaway The Petite Hotel itself was a gem. Great staff, beautiful rooms, nice/quick breakfast. Location is perfect. Many good restaurant, bars, clubs within walking distance. Spas, museums and site seeing all very close as well.

The location couldn't be better for Le Petit Hotel as its right in the heart of Old Montreal. The staff were very friendly and offered us an afternoon cappuccino which was delicious. We booked a medium room, which was immaculately clean, but tiny. The bed was very comfortable, but the bathroom so small that no more than one person could... More

Enjoyed visit, staff were fantastic. The room was nice, stayed in a "medium" room and was plenty spacious for my husband and I, but he didn't love the shift mattress. The breakfast was nothing special, but the complimentary coffee bar options were good.

We had a great stay! The hotel is in a great location - the included breakfast is perfect and walking distance to many restaurants and sightseeing. The staff is also very welcoming and friendly. I would go back and recommend to others. The room is also big and super comfortable. We had a king size room and it was perfect... More

I spent three nights in Le Petit Hotel in January 2016 and was extremely satisfied with everything. I had a "small room" on the second floor which was very clean, furnished in good taste and not really small but what I would call normal. I liked the fact that the floors in the rooms are wooden (no carpets). The bed... More

My wife & I stayed in room 307 which was very nice (facing St-Paul street). It was a little noisy, but the view was worth it. Great staff (Maude, Alex, ect...) I wouldn't hesitate to go back anytime. We strongly recommend it, you won't be dissapointed.

Hotel is in a great location, room is very nice - try for 4th floor for quirky layout, vaulted ceiling. Nice breakfast; staff friendly and helpful. The street outside is narrow, so caution if trying to park to access hotel. Tripadvisor wants me to write more but I'm done.

Everything about Le Petit Hotel is perfect. The architecture is interesting and creative....they've created a great space out of a very small location. You couldn't ask for a better physical location in town...close to everything. The staff, especially Alex are courteous, professional and knowledgeable. A wonderful stay.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
