Really good hotel with friendly staff. I've given it 4 stars as it was on the pricey side. The continental breakfast was nice. The rooms are slick and the toiletries are really nice. The location was in the old town, which was nice, but we did end up walking a lot to get across town to do most things so... More

We booked Le Petit via Hotels.com. Upon arrival, just as we parked the car across the street from the hotel, a staff member walked outside to welcome us. How did they know we were to check-in, we will never know. The group of young people running this hotel are intuitive, knowledgeable, attentive and accommodating. The rooms are modern and sparkling... More

Charming really is the word! The staff is accommodating, friendly, and pleasant. The room was appealing and had both old world and modern characteristics. All the staff was friendly, but I have to acknowledge Maude for going out of her way to make sure that our room was perfect. Located in Old Montreal, the hotel is right in the middle... More

The hotel is a nice mix of old and new charm, with a wonderfully comfortable bed. Stairs were not an issue for us thanks to the helpful staff. Only one small complaint.... a bigger bathroom would have made it perfect but the shower made up for it!

My reunion with 9 friends was made a delight. The staff could not have been more helpful for our every requirement. A few extra chairs, ice for a cooler, oops, I forgot my sunglasses in my valet parked car. Never a problem. My room 407 was ideal for gathering away from other guests. The continental breakfast was perfect and it... More

This is a pleasant small hotel with nice staff and comfortable bed. The only drawback to the room we had was the steep flight of stairs up to the room, but the staff nicely helped getting the luggage up into the room. And once we were settled in the room, it was a pleasant environment to be in.

What a find!! Absolutely loved this hotel, its situated right on St Pauls Street which is where most of the best restaurants are so is a perfect spot to see the many highlights Montreal has to offer. Service is excellent the guys on reception can't do enough for you and nothing is too much trouble. There is a really funky... More

I would most certainly recommend Le Petite to those traveling to Montreal. I found the hotel to be a lovely blend in size, amenities, service and the location was perfect – close enough to Old Port & surrounding Place d’Armes but not too much street noise. The staff were quite lovely, attentive and approachable. I must take the time to... More

Great hotel. Location is perfect, right in the heart of Old Montreal. Our room was beautiful, very nicely renovated. Staff was very friendly and helpful; gave great recommendations for restaurants, helped with directions.

Very comfortable, well-equipped boutique hotel in the heart of the old town. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We stayed for four nights, and immediately felt at home. Excellent continental breakfast, which was included with our room since we booked directly with the hotel. We would stay at Le Petit Hotel again without hesitation, and would recommend this hotel to... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
