We really loved Le Petit Hotel. We like staying at Boutique hotels and we were very happy with our choice. This had everything we needed. Huge windows looking out on the street, bed was very comfortable. We had a lovely continental breakfast that was complimentary. The staff was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and what to do. The location was... More

Great location and well furnished rooms. Amazing shower and for such an historic property the whole hotel felt very fresh and up to date. It is a small, boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Old Montreal. Easy access to the Basilica as well as shopping and some great restaurants. Despite the fact there was movie being filmed adjacent to... More

The hotel is lovely. Rooms are clear and modern with good bathroom amenities. Huge and very comfortable beds. Windows open so you can get fresh air in the room (no fresh air in the corridors though and you can smell it). Service is good, friendly, relaxed. Nothing formal really. Breakfast is simple; the breakfast room is the one thing I... More

Le Petit Hotel is a great place to stay in Montreal. Its modern (yet, cozy) décor makes your stay much more enjoyable. The hotel is situated on a quite street, which is in close proximity to many restaurants and bars. It is a walking distance to downtown and Hotel's friendly staff will advise you on your best options on how... More

Loved the room--was spacious and chic. The cappuccinos in the morning were divine!! Staff was helpful and friendly. Great location right near Notre Dame. Would stay here again. My only complaints are that the walls are a bit thin (I brought my eye mask and ear plugs so this wasn't a problem) and the breakfast needs some protein options instead... More

Just a quick review. This was a great hotel. Stylish, unpretentious, staff friendly and beds very comfortable - definitely amongst the best ever in a hotel. In a great and safe location. Definitely recommend.

This hotel has a great location in Old Montreal for exploring the city. I am glad we stayed in Old Montreal as opposed to staying more downtown because it had more of a cozy feel. The breakfast was pretty good and the rooms were beautiful. Definitely recommend staying here.

This is a great little hotel that reminds me of the boutique hotels you often find in Europe. You could not ask for a better location in old Montreal. The rooms were very nice - comfortable and with modern decor. Staff were friendly and professional, and we enjoyed the continental breakfast, good coffee and wi-fi. One minor improvement would be... The Valet parking was very accessible and the Staff were very nice at check-in. We arrived early & were promptly given a first floor room which was recently renovated and was a mixture of modern with the old fieldstone walls. Our room was very nice, spacious, with a nice shower, of course with two people , one liked the softer... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
