We stayed here for two nights. The location right in the heart of the old city is perfect. I could not say enough about the high quality of the staff. Everyone gave advice and assistance beyond what could be expected. They were great. The breakfast is fine and the rooms are also fine. Super hotel. Strongly recommend.

I'm sometimes known as someone hard to please regarding hotel cleanliness etc but this place was utterly awesome. We arrived very early (11am) and they welcomed us into our room right then and even upgraded us. Oliver was so helpful and polite as we had arrived on a Harley and couldn't really use the valet service but he walked us... More

I attended a convention at the convention center. The hotel was a short 5-10 minute walk through the older area and past a beautiful cathedral. The hotel is cool--fun location with fabulous nearby restaurants. The hotel always had a vat of cold lemon water and coffee plus leftover pastries from breakfast available in the lobby. My room was fine--exceedingly comfortable... More

Followed the advice I got on TripAdvisor and chose Le Petit Hotel for a 4-day stay while at a conference in Montreal. Absolutely delightful. Great staff. Wonderful location. Bistros and restaurants just down the street. Would not hesitate to stay again!

Le Petit Hotel is not "petit" when it comes to comfort. Our room was spacious and extremely comfortable. (OK, the bathroom was on the petit side, but still beautifully appointed and with a great shower.) Its location is perfect for walks around Old Montreal. The selection of breads, muffins, bagels, and croissants posed a difficult decision at breakfast time. Add... More

This boutique hotel is located on Rue St. Paul in Old Montreal. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a mix of exposed brick, stone and wood combined with sleek black-painted and modern fixtures. We opted for the medium sized room which had a very comfortable king-size bed (#302). In the rear so not much street noise... More

We recently stayed at the Le Petit Hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect if you are looking at being in Old Montreal and walking distance to many cafes and restaurants. Our room was 407, which was a large room with a king bed. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very large and quite. The bathroom... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for four nights and we enjoyed it. The location of this hotel is excellent - walking distance to great restaurants, old ports, and many landmarks in Old Montreal. Our room was small, as expected, but it was sufficient and cozy. Our bed was comfortable, with good quality sheets. Our bathroom was cleverly... More

My husband accidentally left his briefcase after our overnight stay. We were already halfway back to Toronto and considerably alarmed because he had credit cards, et al in the case. The staff was amazingly cooperative and reassured us they'd send via next day courier. The case arrived with everything intact and on time as promised. Eternally grateful. The name is... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
