Finding good accommodation in the Village can be a challenge since most of Montreal's hotel rooms are in other neighborhoods. But on our second trip to Montreal we found a real gem. Studio Living is perfect for my husband and myself. The location is on a very quiet street, but is just a short walk to all that the main... More

I can't really add much to what everyone else said. The location is excellent. Our studio was very well equipped and maintained. Michael was an excellent host and gave us so many tips for visiting the city.

This studio is clean, quiet, spacious, and the location is perfect. There is free street parking, and a generous continental breakfast each morning (the studio's kitchen was continuously stocked with breakfast items each day). We were greeted upon arrival and Michel gave us a ton of great information about Montreal and a detailed overview of sights and locations. He was... More

Great place and great location. We had a rental and it was easy to find parking right in front of the studio. The location is perfect as Michel recommended several different places to visit and events going on all within walking distance. The apartment is well equipped if you plan to eat in. On his recommendation we visited the farmers... More

My wife and I spent 4 nights at Studio Living to enjoy Montreal and the Just for Laughs comedy festival. We have typically stayed either downtown or in Old Montreal, but the idea of a 1 bedroom in an outlying neighborhood was very appealing - and it did not disappoint. The place is well described here - modern style, great... More

Fantastic quality, small B&B in lovely Montreal neighbourhood. Michel is very welcoming. The studio is very well equipped, with every convenience. It opens onto a beautiful private garden. The fridge is stocked with yoghurts, milk, jams and fruit. There are even cocktail glasses! The bathroom has thoughtful touches like Q-tips and Demak'up pads as well as shampoo and soap dispensers.... More

Dear Kiran, Glad you enjoy our modern decor, set in a 1880 house! That being said, it is hard not to have floor cracking, as it is a wooden structure, not a concret one. As for street noise, it is expected, as I'm in the middle of the city, garden floor or second floor as well, we do hear some... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
