My wife and I spent 4 nights at Studio Living to enjoy Montreal and the Just for Laughs comedy festival. We have typically stayed either downtown or in Old Montreal, but the idea of a 1 bedroom in an outlying neighborhood was very appealing - and it did not disappoint. The place is well described here - modern style, great... More

Fantastic quality, small B&B in lovely Montreal neighbourhood. Michel is very welcoming. The studio is very well equipped, with every convenience. It opens onto a beautiful private garden. The fridge is stocked with yoghurts, milk, jams and fruit. There are even cocktail glasses! The bathroom has thoughtful touches like Q-tips and Demak'up pads as well as shampoo and soap dispensers.... More

Dear Kiran, Glad you enjoy our modern decor, set in a 1880 house! That being said, it is hard not to have floor cracking, as it is a wooden structure, not a concret one. As for street noise, it is expected, as I'm in the middle of the city, garden floor or second floor as well, we do hear some... More

Stayed 7 nights during the F1 GP weekend for a special birthday and the apartment made our time in Montreal much more welcoming. In a great location on a quiet road, but only minutes away from the bars, restaraunt and metro. Michel was a fantastic host who gave us all the info we needed on getting the best out of... More

We were up in Montreal for Memorial Day weekend and were lucky enough to snag a room at Studio Living. I can honestly say we will never want to stay anywhere else when we visit Montreal. On a quiet side street but a very short stroll to St Catherine St. And was fairly easy to find free on-street parking. You... More

What more can you say other than the accommodation at Studio Living is absolutely superb. The thought and design that Michel has put into his 3 apartments has to be seen to be believed. Very clean, quiet , spacious place. Tasteful decor, great value for money. Host was friendly, informative and hospitable. He provided useful tips about the bars, restaurants, coffee shops in the city sorted by neighbourhoods. Easy to walk to nearby places and subway. We would definitely stay here next time we go to Montreal..

My daughter and I didn't want to go out sightseeing because it was cold and the hotel was so comfortable. The location was great, close to any spots. The owner was very kind and helpful. The room was meticulously organized. It was beyond our expectation! Thank you so much for your hospitality, Michel.

This place is the best stay there is in Montreal (in my opinion). Good room service, a really nice porch, awesome homemade couch, beautiful garden and everything else you would ever possibly imagine! Conveniently near all the best of Montreal!

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
