We arrived and got a good welcome from the lady on the desk. She helped with printing some tour emails too. We didn't realise there was no lift and had a few problems carrying our cases up the stairs - but that was our fault. When we got into our room, the beds were fine but the room generally wasn't... We stayed in this hotel for three nights, it was horrible, the room was not cleaned our entire stay, we had to ask for clean towels every day, when we arrived back at our room around 6pm each night we ask why our room wasn't cleaned and were told they had not gotten to it yet. What hotel cleans their... More

The reality does not match the published photos. The old guy on reception very rude. The door locks do not function. They stole my iphone the last day of the room and I did not solve anything. It was a frightening experience!!!!

We went to Montreal to visit family and wanted something special, not just the regular hotel... Wow, we were totally amazed by this little hotel directly in the centre of the city and very close to the Old Montreal at a walking distance. All the rooms are different and super cool. We just had a blast!! It was large enough... More

This was the worst hotel experience of my life. We pre booked this room 3 weeks prior to our May vacation based on Internet pic's, and good reviews. When we checked in at the desk I was given a key to room. When I went to the room the door was open. The entry door was broken and would not... More

Couldn't even stay in the room more than 20 min. We booked another hotel and left!! Everywhere we looked there was something broken. Toilet, at 2 inch of the wall so impossible to sit, behind a half-curtain. I couldn't believe it. Very dark and scary!

We had such a great experience when we stayed here! It was clean and the staff was very friendly (they even helped us with our luggage!). The hotel has a warm feel to it and it SO CLOSE to everything (15 min walk to Old Montreal and about 25 minutes to downtown). It was helpful that there was a place... More

Great location, clean and quiet. Friendly staff, very VERY affordable Ask what the "bathroom" looks like though. It was tiny in the room I got. Did not mind because I was alone, but better ask before :) I recommend!

To sum up: the hotel has a great location. However, when we arrived the first thing we were asked was: Who are you? In a bad mood. The room we were set in wasn't ready (we arrived an hour later than we were expected) and we had to ask for another one, which wasn't ready either. Besides, they didn't give... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighborhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centers, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
