I have stayed at the Le 9 et Demi multiple times before and every time has been fantastic! The location is right in the heart of Montreal, so close to many good restaurants and bars. The facilities are perfect for a large group. Jean is a great manager as well. For example, this past time, an unfortunate instance came up... More

A warm welcome, lots of advice, a place when you can immediately feel at home. We went there on a family trip and we've spend three amazing days there. The kitchen, living-room, patio and two bathrooms must be shared with the others but it enables you to meet great and nice people. We will certainly return to the 9 et... More

I've been several times in Montreal , and each time I had real pleasure to know that I had a good place for sleeping and feeling good , Jean and Greg are really kind and welcoming. The place is beautiful comfortable and really cheap (comparing with similar paces in Montreal) The times when it was fully booked i had to go... Le 9 et demi is the must-go location if you want a welcoming atmosphere and a true Montreal-like experience. The price is great and hosts are very welcoming and interested in getting to know you. You have a nice patio in the back where you can have your (included) breakfast. From the patio, you can view other people's backyards which... More

The location of the auberge is good. Lots of restaurants near by. One can take the metro and go around with ease. The place itself is clean. The breakfast is good but there is no variety, it is pretty boring. They have only two bathrooms and sometimes it is a queue to wait for the next available one, since there... More

We stayed in the St. Laurent house and it's in a perfect part of town. Room was pretty spartan but clean (we were in the Mont Royal room -- sunny with nice view), and between the shared baths and thin walls you won't confuse it with a luxury hotel -- but it's a very good value for the price.

I stayed there for a week. It's clean with a great location. It's worth the money. The manager is nice and helpful. The breakfast was quite good. It's clean and quite with a good atmosphere and decoration.

My teenage daughter and I stayed for 4 nights at the St. Denis location and absolutely loved it! We weren't sure what to expect and were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived! The beautiful hardwood floors were stunning. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Not quite downtown but near the wonderful Jean Talon market. Greg recommended a quaint and fabulous French bistro... More

9 et demie is not fancy, but it has a great vibe. You feel right at home and comfortable. The rooms are simple, but well designed. The kitchen, dining room, and patio are great. Shared baths and no AC, but the price is right. And the location on Blvd St. Laurent was just right for me. It was all good.... More

My husband and I stayed here, at the St. Denis location, for three nights in May and had a really enjoyable time. Greg stayed up to meet us upon our arrival, which was terribly late because of traffic, and continued to show perfect hospitality the entire time we were there. The B&B is in a lovely old building with lots... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
