Reception: friendly welcome by the manager/owner Apartment for 4: spacious, clean, kitchen area. Breakfast: great to be on the patio in the sun with freshly cooked eggs or pancakes. To improve: size of the beds Excellent location, 2 blocks from lively neighbourhood, shops, bars and subway.

We just returned from an enjoyable 3 night stay at Le Chasseur. The B&B is located in a 125 year old house that is a few steps away from Rue de la Maisonneuve and Rue St Denis. The place is charming and has a lot of character. We stayed in room #8, fairly small but clean. The room is located... More

When we arrived the owner was completely drunk. All the way up the stairs he was singing songs about my name. We had asked for an extra bed on the phone (which he agreed to) and when we got there he had put a camp lit with no blankets. When we asked him that this was not what he had... More

Good value for money and great location but not in as good condition as it should be. The stairs are pretty tatty, though the room itself was fine. One of the main issues was that there was only 7 chairs at breakfast so when everyone descended together (at 9am) there was a queue for a place at the breakfast table!... More

This was my 2nd visit, and I really like this place. Breakfast is AMAZING, and the place is super clean. Sounds kinda weird, but I loved how the room smelled. The street noise is super loud in the morning, but I had the windows open. If you're a city dweller, you'll be fine. The location is perfect, just steps from... More

To be honest we weren't expecting a lot from this 2 star hotel but we were in for a very pleasant surprise. Roc (the owner) is a real character, friendly and a mine of knowledge. His staff are very helpful also. The location is near perfect - 2 blocks from great eating (Latin Quarter and The Village). 1 block from... More

This is a small bed and breakfast in an ideal location, within walking distance of many city neighborhoods, including Old Montreal and The Village. It's also a short block from a metro station, should you need public transportation. The room was small, but not too small, and well-designed, reminiscent of European accommodations. Weather permitting, breakfast is served on a delightful... More

Small 2* B&B. Small but sufficient breakfast that can be consumed on the outside deck weather permitting. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Conveniently located close o the bus terminal, restaurants and downtown Montreal. I would surely recommend this place.

Youth hostel type. We were given a room on the ground floor. Wide and clean enough, small bathroom but with wide, new, standing shower with glass wall, much better than curtains. The room smelled of dampness. Very well located, near Montreal city center. Possibility of free parking on the street, but most free parking spots are already occupied. It was... More

It is a nice place to stay. I travelled by myself for the first time in Montréal. The staff sent me a message before my check in asking for the time I was planning to check. It was a nice initiative for me, seems they were carrying of the entrance and for having someone there. It’s a calm place, comfy... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
