After searching high and low on the internet for the perfect Montreal hotel for our vacation, I chose Hotel Zero based on the price, location and over-all design. The hotel was even nicer than I expected. The location is beyond excellent, right below St. Catherine's street, and less than a 10 minute walk to the shops and bars on St.... More

This is a NICE hotel. Super new and newly renovated. Hotel Zero-1 looks like it was once a hostel but is renovated to be a full service hotel. It is conveniently located on Rene Levesque and St. Laurent, so the Airport express bus stops very close to it, and you can easily walk up St. Laurent to get to anywhere... More

We first stayed at this hotel in May of 2010. It hadn't at that time changed owners and we liked it so we were really surprised when we returned Canada Day weekend. We felt it to have an elegant touch. The white decor was really nice.We expected the kitchenette area, minus the stove that was there last year, but we didnt missit.... More

pros: Nice and newly refurbished rooms. Decoration is very modern. Black walls, yellow miroor, etc. Pretty clean. Some stains on the carpet, but what can u do. There are hundres of people walking on these carpets every month. Price is unbeatable. $129 for this level of service can't compete. Cons: One day, room was not madeby 3:30, only one elevator... nice ideas but realised on the cheap/ sloppy cleaning. used plastic cups on the reception desk , carpet in hallways, entry and elevator is vey dirty. Minimal mattress cover sheets, no bedside table lamps. Common areas, entry and elevatator are unkempt and ate clearly not ckeaned on a regular basis. This is the first impression when you walk in. Looks... More

I booked four nights at Zero 1 and was very satisfied with my choice. The room was huge and very clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was very nice. The only negative points are the slow internet and the fact that there is not enough light in the room. Also, it was difficult to set the temperature... More

We needed a reasonably priced room for a conference in Monteral, and the Zero 1 was the lowest price option available for 3*+. The entire hotel had only been open a week or so, and the place was rank with the smell of paint. They painted the whole place black, including the rooms.. which is a bit of a downer... More

Pros: Looks good, comfortable beds, free and fast Internet access, free light breakfast, kitchenette. Cons: It's not done yet, location, design instead of function, inconsistent housekeeping, security of building. Tough to love or hate this place. It's stylish in an IKEA and black paint sort of way. Our bed was comfortable, and the front desk staff was pleasant. Breakfast of... More

I was let down by my holiday rental at the last minute - four days before I was due to fly to Montréal for a week's stay, including going to the F1 Grand Prix. It was a disastrous situation to find myself in, as I knew all the prices would be hiked to the hilt with it being last minute... More

My friends and I reserved a "Living" suite to celebrate my 40th birthday. When we showed up to check in, however, we learned that they had given our suite away to another customer and were just going to give us a normal room. We complained, but the staff said there were no more large suites available. The staff were apologetic... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
