This is the first positive review I have written here but this place totally deserves it. Outstanding hotel for the price. Staff was always pleasant and helpful, standard room was decent sized, stylishly appointed and very comfortable. Really surprising how quiet it was given the very central location. There is a 5th floor deck that overlooks the park out back.... More

I stayed at Hotel Zero 1 in Montreal for one night. The hotel is right at the edge of Chinatown and very close to everything in Old Montreal. The room was rather small but modern and nicely decorated. Valet parking is available and very convenient. The staff was helpful and professional. The hotel is suited for both business travelers and... More

Spent 6 days in Montreal at an academic conference (at HEC), and stayed in this great boutique hotel - in the centre - great location, friendly staff, spacious, well-equipped rooms (906), working wifi (throughout hotel). Very contemporary decor, but not at expense of comfort. Location - just at edge China town, walking distance to old town (10 mins max), and... More

Perfect hotel for anyone looking for a memorable getaway with a little luxury - on a budget. The atmosphere of the lobby and rooms are very modern. Clean, minimalistic, very aesthetically pleasing. Staff are very friendly and willing to help. Receptionists very knowledgable about Montreal. Location is ideal! Located directly across the street from Chinatown (great place to spend an... More

I dislike the location of the hotel, however, it is a good deal considering the price, the service and the cleanlines of the place. The staff is very helpful and courteous. The only down side was the small room. P.S check out their rooftop terrace.

Checking in for one night during Jazz Fest was quick and easy. Reception was well staffed and the people were nice. I was somewhat taken by the modern decor. The walls are black. The furniture is mostly white or black. Low-volume club music in the lobby creates a cool urban vibe. This isn't a Ramada. Lots of windows in the... More

modern and minimalist decor. room had everything we needed. we found the staff terrific-- friendly, efficient, and consistently helpful. great location for the jazz festival or anything at Place des Arts, and close enough to most other sites that we could walk everywhere. I wish the parking were cheaper, but otherwise, we loved the place.

I recently lodged at Hotel Zero 1 for 7 days and 6 nights on vacation in Montreal. This was my first time lodging at this hotel. Check-in was smooth. The receptionists were very pleasant, however, they didn't mention the free muffins and coffee for breakfast as suggested in other reviews I've read. I stayed in a POP 1 Queen room,... More

Very chic and modern, with a great location. Room was well equipped, with a kitchenette and a tiny table. The smallest hotel room at this price point that I've ever been in. There's no room for a work desk or a place to sit except for the kitchenette chairs, no bureau; only two very small drawers in the closet. Its... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
