the belligerent panhandlers who accost you around this area. They also double as squeegee panhandlers at these street corners and demand money for nothing. Montreal Police should do something about this as this can t be good for business. As for the Hotel, I have stayed there since and even before it' s changeover to a boutique hotel. This time... Hotel Zero 1 is a decent hotel in the area of Downtown Montreal. Considering that it appears to be significantly cheaper than other Hotels in the area, it's a good deal if you are looking to save some money on your trip to Montreal. There is no room service. However there is an Italian restaurant within the Hotel that is... More

We got a great deal through points so for us it was great value. Easy to get to many places and staff were lovely. Room was industrial chic but clean and comfortable. Very pleasant stay. We would go back.

For over 300CAD per night...this was the worst stay-over during our trip around East Canada. a) We booked a loft suite and got a good size ROOM...could be called executive room tops b) Were woken up by the fire alarm the next morning due to the sprinkler going off and were given a silly explanation " a guest hung his... Dear Yvette, thank you for your review on Trip Advisor. We do regret the inconvenience you have experienced during your recent stay with us. A client did hang her clothes on the water sprinkler in the bathroom of her suite creating water to spread massively from the 12th floor down to the Lobby! These unfortunate and unique situations are out... More

Hello! Today 6/22/14 around 5:00 pm, my girlfriend and I came in to ask for help because her car had suddenly died. There were three women at the service desk and one of them in particular (I'm sorry to have missed her name, she had long blonde hair) was extremely helpful and kind to assist us. It was really difficult... More

Stayed here for 3 nights for a conference. Had almost everything I needed. What I liked most: Service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating; room was very clean; bath/shower facilities new; had microwave, small fridge, dishes/cutlery, small coffee maker; wifi connection good; free continental breakfast was tasty. What I liked least: room was dark at night and found it hard... More

We´ve been there just for a night but it was wonderful, we travelled with our one year old baby and though the hotel is a boutique one, the room was huge and with all the things we need. Beside this, the complimentary breakfast was a really good news that we didn´t know. Also the staff was really charm and nice... More

We spent 2 nights at this hotel for a small family reunion and found the hotel to be accommodating in every way. My mother was arriving very late at night and the staff were able to leave a care package of snacks I'd gathered in her room for her arrival, even putting the drinks in the fridge. Rooms are clean... A quick weekend getaway to Montreal is always a good idea. Got a good price on Hotel Zero 1, an urban, hip boutique hotel that's walking distance to the metro stations. THE BEST • Staff were always friendly and smiling, offered to break my bill for bus fare THE GOOD • A few blocks from the metro stations • Airport... More

i don't think they really know what they want to be. Trying for cool i guess but it just comes across as wrong. Black walls accentuate the very small rooms. No desk for business use. Bathroom counters are tiny (i'll admit a personal bias on this). on the plus side - good location to old montreal and chinatown. Fast elevators.... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
