The room was a bit small with not much place to sit but on the bed. No problem though as nothing wrong with spending some extra time in bed. Siesta! The bathroom is certainly functional albeit small. Decent coffee at breakfast buffet (continental) stay away from orange juice unless you like your juice on the watery side. The best feature... More

After a day of travel, it was wonderful to be greeted by such helpful staff in the reception area. Our room was clean, we loved the fact that there were real dishes, a microwave, and refrigerator and a very comfortable bed. The blinds and curtain did a great job darkening the room, I love to sleep with it really dark.... More

We stayed at Hotel Zero 1 during the Jazz Fest. It is an easy walk from the hotel. But far away from the "jazz noise late at night." Call me old fashioned but the room was rather stark. Black walls, Neon yellow mirror facing the bed and only one reading light. The bed was comfortable and the picture windows (one... More

The Hotel Zero 1 is a good location for exploring Montreal. Stayed in a HIP room, was good sized with comfortable bed and 4 pillows, Table with 2 chairs, Microwave, Fridge, dishes, and flat Panel TV. I arrived early and my room was not ready but I dropped my bags in a friends room and when went back to the... More

This hotel's location was great for the jazz festival and for walking to other parts of the city like Old Montreal and Chinatown. The metro is a few blocks away - very close. DesJardins mall - a couple of blocks away. Lots of restaurants and things to do. Staff were very, very nice and helpful. We had a couple of... More

Went to Montreal for the Deadmau5 concert and stayed at hotel zero. What a great place. Very sexy hotel, to say the least. A little pricey and not so ideal for a family stay, but for couples it's a great place. It's location is good, construction made it a little difficult but any downtown spot has this challenge so it's... More

We have stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions. Both trips were comfortable. The addition of the restaurant and the complimentary continental breakfast is a big plus. Rooms are of the minimalistic philosophy but quite comfortable. We attended the jazz festival and the hotel is literally one block from the Place de Arts. For the price, it's well worth... More

I too have been staying at Hotel Zero 1 since before the change over. I love the location! It is close and convenient to everything,ie metro, buses. You can walk to China town,Vieux Montreal, Notre Dame Basilica, Place des Jardins (there is a grocery store there). The rates were very good. The room was really nice, I love the kitchenette area.... Visited Montreal on business trip and stayed Zero 1 for 6 days. Had a decent experience. Service was very good. Staff were soft spoken, well behaved and cooperative. Rooms are smaller than what you will expect but i did not go with any lavish expectation. Rather this hotel is a great example on how to use a space well. The... More

The hotel is located very conveniently in the theatre disctrict. Yes,there are a few homeless and beggars but never felt very unsafe. Room was very clean and modern, and very decent size. Only one elevator though which was a bit annoying. Staff was lovely and helpful, overall a very pleasant stay!

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
