The corner unit provides a good view from the room in a rather convenient location between Old Montreal and downtown. The room provides more than basic needs by adding a small sink and microwave along with utensils as a compact kitchen. I consider it a well-priced hotel given its location, added functionality, view, and a balanced cozy/trendy atmosphere.

Stayed here in May with a friend for a fun girls weekend, and we got exactly that!!! hotel was small but comfortable and very trendy. Good waking distance for food and shopping, great patio, staff helpful and accommodating. my only complaint would be about the showers, looked cool but super awkward to shower in. Overall, enjoyed my stay here and... More

My adult daughter and I spent a weekend at Hotel Zero1 this past weekend. It was a very busy weekend in the city with the Jazz Festival as well as FIFA World Cup soccer tournaments. The rooms are small as other reviewers have noted, however they make efficient use of the space. The room and bathroom were very clean. There... More

Although we happily live close to Montreal, it is always a treat to find a spot that suits all our needs and that we can recommend to family and friends who are visiting our fabulously diverse and exciting city. Hotel Zero 1 is our newest 'find'! The location is perfect - walking distance to Old Montreal and Place des Arts,... More

The location of the hotel couldn't be any better than it is! Walking distance from everything, few minutes and you are anywhere you want to be. A 24h convenience store right under it is a great plus. The hotel is modern, simple and clean! the rooms are a tad small but the beds are big and comfy, nice view overlooking... More

I was skeptical of this place at first. It was booked by the person arranging our business trip. It tries (and somewhat succeeds) at being very artsy and cool. The walls in the room are painted black, and the decor is black / red / silver which makes for a very dark setting. The room was clean and comfortable, and... More

I'll attach a picture of my original review of this hotel but it has been downgraded since of them accusing us of damaging the closet mirror. First time in my travel experience that there was a damaged fee involved. I stayed at this hotel with my significant other and we did not even use the closet provided. Highly recommend anyone... Hotel Zero 1 is centrally located on the doorstep of Chinatown and just three blocks from the Palais des Congrès (Convention Centre) — important to us as my wife was attending a conference there. It’s also near the centre of le Quartier des Spectacles, a cultural district in the heart of downtown and an easy walk or short bus ride... More

Great experience again! Spacious room, very quiet. Breakfast included with our room. Within waking distance of Old Montreal, at the gates of Chinatown for great restaurants. St. Laurent metro was quite close and easy to walk to. We will absolutely return.

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
