The owners from day one set high expectations of us making us make all the beds and do the original laundry. When we got there the people before us left toothpaste in the sink, and most of the cutlery was dirty. There was left over food in the fridge. The beds were so small and uncomfortable. No airconditioner... The owners... More

The room is comfortable and decorated with beautiful photos of snowy landscapes. It's quiet and cosy. The house is surrounded by trees and it's nice to hear all the birds singing. David and Ellen are very helpful. We had a great breakfast with yoghurt that David is making himself, as well as delicious pancakes with orange zest.It was great to... More

Tranquility and peace away from the hustle and bustle. This B&B/Studio is a 15minute stroll from the ferry through lovely trees. David and Ellen are helpful hosts and David will not only meet you from the ferry with your luggage but he will also lend you a bicycle or canoe so that once installed you can explore the islands on... David makes delicious bread and yogurt and stocks the frig. and pantry so you can cook as much as you want. They are there to help you if you need anything. There were 2 bikes and a... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
