I stayed in the By the Park B&B recently whilst travelling solo following a work trip to the nearby area. Lovely B&B in a great location, metro is 5 mins walk, and if you like running High Park is just around the corner with loads of beautiful trails. Also nearby the trendy Roncesvalles area (about 10-15 minutes walk) which has... More

We really enjoyed staying at this unheated bed and breakfast. It was immaculate and well cared for. One feels that the owners put a lot of love and care into their property. We enjoyed having a kitchen, being close to the subway, having parking, and being close to High Park and the village.

This is our upteenth stay at thebed and breakfast and each time we are not let down. Margo and Ziggy work hard to maintain their excellent standards in both rooms and the breakfast provided. Well worth a stay at and we are sure you will not regret your going. Although we never use local transport there are plenty of options... More

We stayed in the "Self catering suites" building at 89 Indian Grove across the street from the B&B, in the second floor "oak suite" the nights of 7/6 thru 7/8. This is what American travelers might call an "efficiency" unit as it has a full and very well-equipped kitchen as well as a private bath, a living room AC unit,... More

We had stayed here before and knew it was a nice place. Since our daughter moved closer to this area we were looking for a place to stay nearer to where they live and remembered this place. It was as wonderful the second time around as the first. Quiet neighborhood but within minutes of many eating places and a short... More

Stayed for a week at the High Park Suites and loved it. The room was very comfortable and very clean with a good sized closet and chest of drawers. The bathroom was always kept proper and was very comfortable. It was so practical to have the shared kitchenette (individual fridge for our room, shared area with sink, microwave, electric kettle,... We were looking for accommodation in the Toronto High Park area and could not believe our good luck. Our hosts were friendly and had obviously put their labours of love into the beautifully renovated heritage building. Our room was cleaner and more comfortable than any hotel. We sat in the charming garden morning and evening. The shared kitchen was a... More

We usually check trip advisor before staying anywhere but we booked here just based on the recommendation of friends, so were unaware they were the #1 b&b in Toronto until after our stay. But we can understand why. We stayed in the Iris room, one of the basement rooms with shared kitchen. The room is nice and everything is clean.... More

Just completed at least my 12th stay at By the Park in the past 5 years. I go back, and will continue to do so, because: - Margo and Ziggy are the consummate hosts; gracious, accommodating and friendly. - The location is ideal; close to transit, the great shopping on Roncesvalles Avenue, and my daughter's home. - The rooms, common... We have stayed at By the Park many times over the past several years, as our daughter and her family live nearby, and it is the closest place to stay. Ziggy and Margo are like family now, and are always gracious. We are fans of old houses, and their renovations are amazing. As a B&B, the rooms are spotless, and... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
