If the reason you get a hotel boils down to "have a place to sleep that isn't the streets" then this pretty much does that. It's affordable (cheap, really, for Toronto) and really well-located. But, apart from the bedding, it wasn't clean. The roof seems to be caving in as the ceiling is buckling, and place just has a general... More

Its very basic and there is no elevator and mostly the building seems a little rundown. That said, it is a budget hotel, it was pretty clean, and they were helpful if anything was needed. I wouldnt bring anything too valuable with me as i felt i could knock the door right over if i pleased. However, if you need... More

This "hotel" was shady right from the start. I still check my credit card account in case of fraud... There were odors of cat piss and cigarette in the whole corridor. Toilet didn't flush and the washroom was covered in dirty water. However, the bedroom (#2) seemed strangely... clean. Seems recently renovated. Expect dust in the corners. The AC works.... More

Well, this is as basic accommodation as it gets. I had a pretty small room with no furniture in there but the bed, small table for the bed-side lamp and a chair. No closet whatsoever and only two hooks on the wall, so my chair was my "closet". The hallway revealed the level of this place. They do not offer... More

Just an emergency option if its getting late and you dont have anywhere to stay at. It is one of the cheapest but thats the only advantage it has. When you open the main door to the lobby the strong smell of cigar and other stuff makes you regret you even came inside. The room is just a little but... More

Within walking distance of the CN Tower, waterfront and greyhound station we found this to be outstanding value. Clean room, very comfortable bed, good bathroom and shower facilities. the price was $50 for a room with own washroom i will definitely go back . When we booked the hotel , we where in two minds after reading the reviews but... More

Renting this hotel went very smoothly, Sam (Owner) is very prompt with answers to any questions a person may have. This kind of service is important when renting a place. The hotel is in a great location or you can say center of toronto downrown with all the necessary amenities you may need. Wifi in the hotel was great to... More

I've stayed in many hostels in Toronto, this is the absolute worst. The lobby smelled of marijuana it was dirty all over. The shared shower wasn't caulked properly and full of black mould. There were no paper towels in there either, I used my pants because at that point they were probably the cleanest thing in that building. We used... More

Had friends from out of town stay there during Pride as they couldn't find hotel vacancy. They said that we had to come and see this place. Well upon entering there was a couple crackhead/hookers in the entrance/lobby. We went up to the room and they opened the door we took one look inside and left. Beware that they have... More

Any hotel in a developing nation can offer more than this establishment. The bus station of Toronto is cleaner! The bathrooms are dirty and filthy! You can get sick or even die! The staff are badly informed about the city! If you are in a budget travel stay in a hostel!

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
