I stayed for a week. An old hotel/art gallery, very interesting concept. My room was interesting but not as impressive as I thought... Ok I wasn't the one to book and it was quite late according to the dates... The hotel is definitely gorgeous though, with its old wooden n' metal elevator. The bar-restaurant offers a cozy ambiance and surprisingly... More

Hard to rate this unusual hotel. I've been going back and forth on whether to give it 3 or 4 stars. It had a similar art-focused feel as 21c Museum Hotel in Louisville but without the luxurious amenities and with an awesome queer feel. My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights for our anniversary. We had lots of... More

Dear Madam, Thank you for your kind comments and for bringing some issues to my attention. As the oldest continuously run hotel in Toronto and the volume of clients coming through the hotel annually, there will unfortunately be some wear and tear. We have established a maintenance plan to offer the best level of upkeep possible. We have also planned... More

I needed to stay near Exhibition Place, so decided on the Gladstone. Great looking rooms etc. on the web, but in reality: beaten up, noisy and uncomfortable. The main floor is a concert venue and any room above is held hostage to the noise. I complained, but was told, "it's an urban experience", or it's a "creative space". Really? They... More

Dear Sir, Thank you for sharing your experience with us and fellow travelers. I am very sorry to hear that your stay with us was not satisfactory. The Gladstone hotel is well known, primarily for its very unique and elaborate art program, which is the corner stone of this art hotel. We have over 4500 square feet of exhibition space... More

I stayed at the hotel for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding held in the ballroom and the second floor reception area.I stayed in the Today Room. Each room is designed by an artist. The bed was very comfortable and the duvet and pillows were amazing. Everyone who works here are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great... More

Dear guest, Thank you for sharing your kind comments. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and especially the bedding, I must admit, is of extraordinary quality. Being a well versed traveler myself and having operated many high end establishments internationally for over 20 years, I am proud to say that the beds at the... More

A fine place to hook up after a night of drinking, I would think. This is, of course, the crux of their business. Not a luxurious experience, otherwise. Would -not- stay here again. The room was banged up - chips on the wall, mysterious fluids/stains on the walls, damage to the furniture, no bathrobes, the world's oldest/smallest living television, no... More

Dear Sir/Madam, I do not find your comments very constructive nor informative for fellow travelers, especially since you decided to leave the hotel a few minutes after check-in. We do not position our property as a luxury establishment in any way and I believe that our price points reaffirm that, however, we are a very well respected art boutique hotel,... More

The Gladstone Hotel was built and named after British Lord Gladstone in the 1890's. The family had a complete renovation of the hotel in the 1980's (?). It is the equivalent of the 2LC Museum Hotels being built in mid size cities in the United States. There is art on every floor and each room has been designed by a... More

Dear guest, Thank you for sharing your impressions with us and fellow travelers. It was most regrettable to read about the lack of cleanliness in your room upon arrival. We pride ourselves with the level of cleanliness that we normally provide for at the Gladstone, so please accept my sincere apologies for that. We have looked into the matter and... More

Individualized room themes, each decorated by different designers. The staff was really caring, going out of their way to guide and handle needs. Overall it was a great value and in a cool area of town.

The Gladstone was a great place to stay. Rooms are all designed by artists and art is exhibited in all the hallways and lobbies on each floor. Location was perfect, lots of restaurants, bars and shopping within walking distance. Our room was decorated artfully-like a haunted house. The linens were clean, as was the whole room. We thought the staff was friendly and helpful. The location on Queen St. was great, with interesting shops and restaurants close by. We enjoyed the art in the hallways. We would definitely stay here again.

The best thing about the Gladstone for us was the Queen St. location. Lots of interesting restaurants, bars, and shops. Not too far from the lake, we went for lakeside runs each morning. We found the staff universally friendly and helpful. The most bothersome thing was the tiny shower. I am not sure why they installed a tub spout there... More

Dear guest, Thank you for sharing your comments with us and fellow travelers. I am very happy to hear that you were generally very pleased with the staff and your stay.
