The hotel was lovely - our room was on the 42nd floor with views over downtown and the lake. Beautiful at night. Room was always clean, great amenities and the shower was sublime after a long day walking around Toronto. Great location meant we could get to Distillery, Waterfront and main shopping areas easily. Room proved a nice haven at... More

A beautiful old hotel. When we got to our room it was not what we had booked. We had booked a room with a king bed but it just had two queens. A quick call to the desk and they upgraded us to a beautiful suite. The room was huge, the lounge area had a small kitchenette with microwave, dishwasher,... More

We had a room on the 11th floor which was right next to the service lift/station, seems this is used throughout the night & not just for room changing. I would suggest asking for a room away from here. The rooms are lovely & the beds are comfy too.

This hotel has so much potential. It's in a good location, in a stunning building, in a friendly city. Yet it is the staff that lets it down. The staff we interacted with seemed abrupt and borderline rude. They didn't seem to smile, or seem to want to acknowledge guests. One front desk clerk had serious attitude when I politely... More

We stayed here in mid July for a few days and we had a fantastic time. The location is great, its near everything. The hotel was great itself. We were lucky to have the pleasure of dealing with a gentleman at the front desk named Colin. Colin was fantastic from the time we called to book our stay until the... More

We got a great deal on a room here. Probably because of the renovations at the lower outside of the building. This does not affect your stay at all or the view from the room. Room exceeded my expectations. Full loaded with cooktop even a mini dishwasher. We got this room cheaper than lower class star hotels from the same... More

Stayed here on Canada Day and it was amazing! One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in! Very affordable considering it's amazing location in the downtown core. Minutes away walking from all the attractions and amenities in the city! Rooms were clean, very modern, and comfortable beds!

I have stayed at this hotel at least 15 times. It is my go-to place to stay for concerts and Yankee @ Jays games. They offer free wifi if you book directly with the hotel- which helps with the international phone plans. In addition, it's high quality wifi. I've never had trouble with connection. The hotel is a bit pricey,... More

So my boyfriend and I booked this beautiful hotel last minute. We ended up getting a great deal with www.hotels.com and had a spectacular room. The view was amazing! Our room was also very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Our room even came with a kitchenette and the bathroom was spotless! I highly recommend staying here. It is... More

I arrived around 21:30 on a Thursday after a flight from the UK. Having pre-paid, I was quickly allocated my room by pleasant registration staff. The accommodation was clean and the facilities were up to my expectations - having stayed here before. In all, a fully satisfactory experience which alleviated the stress of travel.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
