This hotel is ideal and well priced considering location and size of the room. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary upgrade we were given to a suite with a wrap around balcony that had a great view of the city. The kitchen was very spacious and looked great. The room itself was clean, quite spacious and even had laundry... More

Did not have a positive experience in this hotel at all. In no way would I rate this hotel a 4 star hotel, barely a 2 star. We arrived late after a long drive and flight, when getting to our hotel room the air conditioning didn't work, along with NONE of the lights in the suite except for one lamp... More

My boyfriend and I visited Toronto this year for a family event. We chose to stay in the city and rent a car to go to the suburbs for visiting family. First off don't pay the Cosmo for parking. There is a public lot a block away that is incredibly less expensive. The room was nice. Awesome to have a... More

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the past 5 years. Checking in last weekend for 4 days, I expected the same quality as my prior favorable experience. To my dismay, the room which I occupied was very run down. I was told that the hotel just bought the unit from a prior owner, but clearly... More

Arrived at hotel with expedia booking late at night, hotel did not have reservation in system, front desk clerk made me call expedia and then made me wait 45 minutes, then gave me the wrong room (single room instead of high end suite). When I asked for a solution they told me to cancel everything. Had to book at the... More

Very central location with clean functional rooms. Reception on arrival is uninspiring, small and slightly chaotic. The suite rooms offer self contained living with a small sitting area and kitchen . Breakfast served only in the room. Steak restaurant is part of the hotel with rather dark dingy bar. No public rooms for sitting

My boyfriend and I stayed at this location from July 5-9. This hotel is located in the Financial District. It's located in a side street/alley off of Yonge, so our GPS didn't find the hotel on our first try. We parked at a public parking lot on Church Street to save some money on parking. It was approx $20/day there,... More

The location was extremely close to the King St. platform for the Subway and right on the corner of Colborne and Yonge (main street of Toronto) so you could walk anywhere or hop on a subway easily. That's really where everything I have positive to say ends. I am not a complainer and rarely give a bad review, but I... More

I stayed at The Cosmopolitan for one night while visiting friends in Toronto on a Friday night. I had requested an early check-in and a high floor and received both upon arrival at 11 am. The employee at the front desk checked on my room first to see if it was ready. The room was spacious and clean. I could... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
