In summary - this hotel is a bit of an irony - we paid the same rates (ave $119 per night incl. tax) for an older dark, noisy room as we did for one of the newly appointed, quiet, super comfortable rooms. Ratings provided are based on the renovated rooms.
TIP - ring when booking or before you arrive to...

They left the historic character in this old mansion when they turned it into a hotel. Antique furniture, crown moldings, fireplaces, and decor. Hemmingway lived in the house back in the day, so there are many Hemmingway named suites, and you can almost feel papa in the place. Old antique elevator, so if you have mobility issues be careful. We...

I stayed at the Clarion for one night. Great location but noisy. Service was polite and room was adequate. Nothing fancy but good value. .

The rooms are very functional; however, to have a room decorated as in the beginning of the 20th century, you have to book a suite: otherwise, it will be just a standard hotel room, though with all the modern comfort in it. I stayed in this hotel for a week. It is a nice clean hotel with rooms having all the basic amenities which you need when outside at very affordable rates. The staff was also nice and friendly. Rooms are tidy and quiet (although little bit small) so that you can have nice sleep at night.

The staff is very helpful. Very polite.
Room (Hemingway-Suite) OK. In Germany we would say "plueschig" (is not negative!).
But! Breakfast is served complete in Plastic! Even knifes, spoons and forkes! Destroise the image totally. Worst coffie for a long time.
