We chose this hotel because it was a reasonable price for downtown Toronto and it lived up to those expectations. However, we were disappointed at several other aspects of the hotel experience. Although the hotel bathrooms do have new fixtures and the beds were fine, the rest of the room was old and dated. We had trouble getting hot water... More

Upon arrival and check in, we were Initially put in a basement room, playfully referred to by the front desk as the first floor. It smelled of death and hookers feet. I went back up to the front desk to insist on a different room(something a little less dungeon like and above ground) whilst my wife surely coward in the... More

Great hotel, great service, and very clean. We stayed in a renovated hotel room for a very reasonable price. Our stay was extended and the hotel was very accommodating. I would not hesitate to stay there again. Staff was very friendly and made us feel like family.

A great location within easy walk of a subway station to give access to anywhere in Toronto. The hotel itself needs a huge facelift and probably won't while there is an application to build a 49 story apartment block on the site. The lift is from the 1920s and if you have issues with moving baggage up stairs or in... More

We've stayed here about 7 times in the past few years. we've always liked the rooms and price. we found the staff to be friendly and kind.. But it did happen once where the person at the front desk was not very good with customer service. but that was only once. over all I would recommend this hotel.

The walls are dirty and the painting is falling off. Bathroom is not clean and well kept. Shower is really bad. Housekeeping left dirty cups in the room and didn't replace the towels. Breakfast buffet is poor.

A budget hotel partially in a heritage building just steps from a subway station. The rooms are clean but spartan, the bed extremely comfortable. Free WiFi and breakfast. A little faded at the edges, though, and the hotel will be closing in 2015 when the site is redeveloped, so don't expect major improvements on decor. But as a reasonably priced... More

We chose this hotel for its great value and have been back two more times. We found all the staff to be friendly, kind and efficient and our rooms (all 3 times) very clean and functional. We love to see a beautiful old building saved and spruced up, its more interesting to stay in than the predictable ones. It feels... More

Stayed here for one night, it's central enough to walk everywhere. We loved the old elevator with gate and manual door! Room small, but excellent clean and up to date furnishings, bathroom, TVs, etc. continental breakfast is just that, what expected. Parking : They really do only have a few on site spots, but frankly for $17 they weren't much... More

The room was clean and renovated. Breakfast included bagels, toast, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, and decent coffee with real cream. The staff was friendly and helpful, and indeed exceeded expectations when we arrived at 9 a.m. and were invited to have breakfast before we began sightseeing! There were two couples in our party, and they let us put all our... More
