Unfortunately this place does deserve a low rating-a very low rating-for a number of reasons. The place initially seems to be very interesting-full of antiques and curios-but then you realize that the place is basically a total 'petri dish' of bacteria. I developed a serious cough when I stayed there for several nights which I think was the direct result... More

The place is a HOUSE not a Hotel. Big diffrence and the owner of the place is the most unfriendly person in toronto. The place is too small and the stairs are narrow so dont have high hopes on getting your luggage up easily . The neighbourhood is not safe at all, located on the worst part of gerrard street,... It's a cute place to stay and in "our library room" we felt like in a museum :-) Geoffrey was really a nice host and he was so kind to help us with our missed and lost luggage. The typical English breakfast was also great. Ham and eggs are as well offered as fruits. We really enjoyed our stay at... More

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and it was a very clean and nice hotel. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. Would definitely recommend this B&B! Pricing was good as well.

It's a HOUSE, not a HOTEL, and it's critical that you distinguish between these two. It's a kind of place that you'll miss when you check out. Pleasant ambiance, lots of antique artifacts and despite of the old look and feel everything was clean. Geoffrey and John were excellent hosts. The only downside is that the location is not in... Once in a while, travelers weary of the same cookie cutter hotel, where you lose track of where you are. But, once in a while, you stumble onto a lodging so unique and different that you have to call attention to it. Pimblett's Downtown B&B is such a place. Of course, it is not really "downtown,: but in Cabbagetown, a... More

You get what you pay for. So I had no issue with the somewhat rundown accommodation. It was very quiet, and everything seemed clean. Breakfast was great. The trouble was the neighborhood--not one where I felt safe walking around on my own, even before dark. Given the lack of real restaurants in the immediate vicinity, I had little choice. I... More

an amazing home with lots of antiques right in down town TO. Geoffrey was certainly a unique person. I stayed here while my husband was in the hospital. I was very thankful for this accommodation while under great stress and I felt very secure at this home.

What a wonderful eight nights we have had here. We arrived very tired and without luggage, the airline had left it in Spain, it turned up later. Geoffrey made us very welcome. The house is simply wonderful, a time capsule of a bygone age. The bedroom we had (Buttery Room) had a separate large bathroom, a wonderful brass bed, that... More

We stayed here this past weekend because we were in Toronto to see Wicked. We are becoming tired of commercial hotels and this was our first bed and breakfast experience. Geoffrey was super accomodating and his breakfast was delicious. We loved all of the antiques and we had an amazing stay here. We would definitely stay again or recommend Pimblett's... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
