Once in a while, travelers weary of the same cookie cutter hotel, where you lose track of where you are. But, once in a while, you stumble onto a lodging so unique and different that you have to call attention to it. Pimblett's Downtown B&B is such a place. Of course, it is not really "downtown,: but in Cabbagetown, a... More

You get what you pay for. So I had no issue with the somewhat rundown accommodation. It was very quiet, and everything seemed clean. Breakfast was great. The trouble was the neighborhood--not one where I felt safe walking around on my own, even before dark. Given the lack of real restaurants in the immediate vicinity, I had little choice. I... More

an amazing home with lots of antiques right in down town TO. Geoffrey was certainly a unique person. I stayed here while my husband was in the hospital. I was very thankful for this accommodation while under great stress and I felt very secure at this home.

What a wonderful eight nights we have had here. We arrived very tired and without luggage, the airline had left it in Spain, it turned up later. Geoffrey made us very welcome. The house is simply wonderful, a time capsule of a bygone age. The bedroom we had (Buttery Room) had a separate large bathroom, a wonderful brass bed, that... More

We stayed here this past weekend because we were in Toronto to see Wicked. We are becoming tired of commercial hotels and this was our first bed and breakfast experience. Geoffrey was super accomodating and his breakfast was delicious. We loved all of the antiques and we had an amazing stay here. We would definitely stay again or recommend Pimblett's... More

We stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time with Geoffrey and John. This house is like a little museum, filled with knickknacks, books, paintings, teapots, and many other items from top to bottom. We found it delightful and very eccentric. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. We had the pleasure of John cooking for us the... More

We stayed at Pimblett's for one night in the Bewdley Suite which occupies the entire third floor! We splashed around in the giant Jacuzzi tub and afterwards lounged under the stars on our private deck, sans clothes ;) The B&B is older and the carpets threadbare in a few places however it still has plenty of charm. A delicious breakfast... More

This hit all the marks for us. My beau and I drove up from Ottawa and stayed for 4 nights in the honeymoon suite. We enjoyed a private top floor balcony, huge bathroom with huge jacuzzi, queen size bed with fresh bedding, clean towels, shelves of books, and of course a deliciously filling English breakfast every morning. We had breakfast... More

We booked this B&B because it did sound wonderful. It was anything but that! It was dark, cramped, very dusty, and smelled of cooking grease. If it were not for jet lag we would have left as soon as we were greeted at the door. There was no air conditioning and the room was stifling. The window was held open... More

Just now getting a chance to say thanks...After 2 nights of sleeping in the darkness at our home during the recent winter lights-out in Toronto, we needed a reasonably priced place to feel warm and secure. So, my partner and I spent the next 2 nights at Pimblett's Downtown B&B. It surely made the rest of the outage went by... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
