Funny enough I did not stay there, but was treated so well when at the desk I told them I had seem the hotel featured on a design show, (Candace Tells All). I was so impressed what I saw on the show that I just wanted to see the hotel. Before I knew it the manager,Celine was at my shoulder,... More

Lovely Rooms, helpful staff. Would stay here again. Only blemish are nickel and dime charges for supposed "mandatory destination marketing program" and Gratuities that somehow grow from what was signed for... We tipped bellmen more than these charges amounted to so at one level this is trivial but at the same time it's highly annoying to have unfounded and surprise... More

Le Germain is a peculiar place. I find it strange that people define it "boutique" just because of its non-standard design...: it is far from being a small, "boutique" property. It is not bad, but not a great experience either. Just average in my view and certainly showing its age. ROOMS - They are really, really gloomy. I am not... More

Bonjour flying_pig00, First and foremost, I would like to sincerely thank you for taking the time to review our property on TripAdvisor. Although I was delighted to read that the attentive service provided by our front office staff made a very positive difference during your stay, I was disappointed to see that the design of your room did not meet... Small, intimate, modern rooms. Love the way it is decorated. Great included breakfast, close to the entertainment district but can walk to work related events. Would not stay any where else except Le Germaine Maple Leaf Square.

Very nice boutique hotel in downtown Toronto. Easy access to the CN Tower, Rogers Centre, restaurants, night life and the TIFF events location. Great customer service at the front desk, hotel is spotless from top to bottom. Large, comfortable rooms. Overall a great stay whether you're visiting for business, leisure or with family. Definitely on the higher end of the... More

I have stayed at Le Germain in Calgary, Montreal, and now Toronto. My brother got married last summer in Toronto and our entire immediate family (8 of us, 5 rooms) stayed at Le Germain together for the week. The service was exceptional, the amenities fantastic, but it was nothing out of the ordinary-- I had come to expect high standards... More

The Place it self is not too bad but for the money you pay its definitely not worth it. The front desk service is very bad as well as the manager rips you off. The over charged me just because they knew that had meetings lined up and was in no condition to start driving around and finding a new... More

This is for sure one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Excellent location, situated minutes away from main attractions such as the CN Tower, Ripleys Acquarium and main shopping and hip district. Full of bars and good restaurants. Perfect for walking around. But the best of the hotel are the amazing beds they have, I wanted to buy... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
