Wonderful breakfast, wonderful reception! The location is awesome, near central station (train), few blocks from metro. The beds are good, and the bathrooms were always clean. The laundry was very efficient with good machines. The internet was wonderful! Always worked! I totally would come back!

My friend & I from the UK have been travelling through countries like Australia, New Zealand, USA & Canada and experiencing the chain of HI / YHA hostels, and each time they've been excellent. Perhaps the HI Toronto comes in for unfair criticism on my behalf here, as the previous HI we stayed at was in Chicago and it was... More

Well located - although don't be put off by the homeless whip take refuge outside the door. Friendly. Basic. Clean hostel. Would recommend. Excellent breakfast- it set the benchmark: fresh fruit, cereals, toast, bagels & cream cheese, tea/ coffee

At first I was disappointed to be assigned a bed; I don't like top bunk, but they make the bed for you, so that made up for it. They include a comforter if you are cold. In the 10-bed female dorm, each bed has a small shelf for your small belongings (glasses, water bottle, etc.) and a reading lamp (although... More

I stayed here for a month when I relocated to Toronto and was very disappointed with this hostel, The staff were not very friendly, never even bothered to remember my name, I dont even think i saw them smile, ever. I also found it a little difficult to meet people as the common areas are split into pool table and... More

Generally speaking, HI Hostels maintain an incredibly high standard and the Toronto one is no different. I stayed in a mixed 4 bed shared room for a few nights and my experience was incredibly positive. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned everyday, there is free WiFi pretty much throughout the hostel, the staff are incredibly friendly, the rooms are reasonably... More

A nice, clean hostel that is within walking distance to the sights of Toronto. I stayed in a 6 bed female dorm with an ensuite, which was spacious & clean, but slightly dated. Staff were friendly & helpful & the communal areas were pleasant enough, but not quite as big or spacious as other HI hostels that I have stayed... More

I stayed at the HI Toronto in March with two friends. We were there for five nights and I honestly couldn't say enough great things about this place. I've stayed in hostels all over and this is the best one yet. We were in a four person mixed room and had a roommate that had just moved to Canada from... More

HI-TO is centrally located, clean, and the service people are very welcoming and helpful. I stayed (alone) for two nights in a 10-person room, mixed male and female, and the guests were very polite (they were a little quiet). The front desk is staffed 24hrs a day with people who were able to help me with any concerns I had.... More

Stayed in HI Toronto for 4 nights with a friend. We had booked a 10 bed mixed room but were put in an 8 bed female room which wasn't ideal. Room 205 is oddly shaped, very long and narrow with the bunk beds placed end to end so a bit awkward for socialising! The location of the hostel in relation... More
