I stayed for 4 nights at the end of a month on the road and found this place to be clean and comfortable. The best thing about it is the location, very convenient for the major tourist attractions and lots of bars and restaurants. Wifi dropped a bit in the communal areas but was fine in my room. The decor... More

HI Toronto is in a great spot, breakfast is great, staff were amazing and really helpful, WiFi worked really well and the bar was convenient. There were lockers in the room which is always nice. Overall it was a really good stay. Rooms are simple, but comfortable and clean. They supply body wash, soap, shampoo and conditioner for free (at... More

Very easy to find. I arrived from airport by train without problem. Close to the main attractions and very safe. Good for people like me who travel alone and love to make new friends. Nice staff and breakfast. One pub downstairs serves good food and you can enjoy nice music.

My first hostel experience and I think I was very lucky. I decided to throw myself into it and stayed two nights in a female 10 bed room. Someone must have taken the towels from my bed so reception gave me some when I asked. There were lockers in the room but also on other floors (bring a lock or... More

I stayed here for a few nights in May, and overall was not too impressed. I was in a shared dorm on the second floor. The first night was fine, beds are comfy, but the rest were filled with sleepless nights due to the live music from the bar downstairs, which carried on until 2am or so. The bathrooms were... More

The hostel is a great option. Prices are really good. Staff is so so nice. The included breakfast is great (plenty of options). The location is perfect because is a short distance from the Union Station. You got everything around the hostel. Rooms are clean and with air conditioning during summer. Just a great option to be taken!!!

The location of the hostel is great, right in the middle of downtown Toronto. The CN tower and hall of hockey fame are about a 5-10 minute walk. Parking closeby the hostel is ridiculous expensive! The rooms are minimal, but it was clean and quiet. In the basement you can order food, breakfast in the morning will be freshly prepared... More

Whenever I opened a door, it seemed like yet another of the friendly staff members was cleaning assiduously. You could eat your dinner off the floor in all the rooms, public and private - and perform an emergency appendectomy in the bathrooms if you had to! The staff were all kind and friendly, and despite how busy the hostel was,... More

Breakfast is good - I had the health nut and my husband had the fry up. Lovely start to the day being served a fresh / hot breakfast. Communal spaces possibly a bit to small - kitchen is well furnished and clean but if everyone wanted to cook / stay in the lounge area it would be impossible. Rooms -... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
