I have stayed in Canadiana Backpackers for many months this year. Building: it is quite old and not always clean. The kitchen was always a mess, dirty and not big enough for the big quantity of guest who can be hosted here. They always close the kitchen at the lunch time (2pm)! I used to store my food on the... I spent almost a week in this hostel and I had only good experiences here. Very friendly and joyfull staff, nice premises, great comfy girl dorm with cool roomates (I made several new friends there), nice atmosphere, good location 2 blocs from Spadina...Price was also reasonable for Toronto (28 cad/night) including a simple breakfast. I did not even other to... More

I stayed here on my first night in Canada, travelling alone for the first time (I'm 19 and from the UK). I stayed in a single sex 6 bed dorm and felt so safe and comfortable here. Free breakfast is a massive plus. This was a fantastic welcome to Canada and a great opportunity to meet fellow travellers - there... More

I stayed here at the start of November 2014 with my partner. This place was great, lovely staff, clean rooms and the other tenants on our room where quite and respectful. As with any hostel it can get quite noisy but that is to be expected. The staff were helpful, the facilities were clean and they have a good kitchen.... More

I've stayed here twice since moving to Canada in June 2014; once out of necessity and again because I spent a weekend in Toronto and it was really good the first time around. In my opinion the best part of the hostel to stay in are the shared dorms. Surprisingly, they are the most quiet. When I stayed for the... More

First thing you should know is the hostel is actually several building along the street, so after going to the check in you'll likely have to drag your suitcase back down the steps, down the road and then up the stairs there - it's not a massive deal as they're all next door to each other, but at 2am it's... This place has a good reputation and I can see why. The staff were all lovely and very helpful, and the rooms were all well appointed, clean and cosy. It's in a good location, close to the CN tower and a half-hour walk (or quick bus journey) to Toronto City Airport. They also host various activities (like a quiz night,... More

This was a nice hostel and in a great location. Free breakfast is always a plus and was relatively tasty. Free tea and coffee was also great. Staff were lovely and helpful. Only complaint about this place is it is full of long term clicky tenants (mainly Irish) who have all stayed there and know each other for months so... More

The cab driver brought me to this place. It was late. I was tired. I knew the minute I walked in to the place I was going to have a problem. Alot of young asians stay there. Quarters are cramped. You pay for everything including the linens in your room. Pick pockets is the word that comes to mind.

Stayed 3 nights in private room with attached washroom Pros: Clean, easy access from road, hairdrier in washroom, lively reception, helpful desk, free tea, free internet in rooms Cons: Small room, depressing monotonous pancakes with 'artificially' flavored sugary maple syrup breakfast, no almirah in room, noisy heating Pillow covers, bed sheet & Towel are provided on returnable deposit. No TV... More
