It's hard to describe, it's just the overall feeling. When we went upstairs, the stairs and hallways could be more clean, but nothing dramatic. The hardwood floor in our room could have been cleaner, stil everything ok. But the blue blanket with the big white stains on it definitely made us sleep without it. The mattress is covered in plastic,... more

This was my first time staying in a hostel, and I had no idea what to expect. It was a great first experience- now I stay in hostels everywhere I go!! I was doing volunteer training in Toronto. The hostel is close to both my training centre and all the nightlife. The staff was fun and welcoming, and patiently handle... more

Stayed here for three nights. The hostel was quite nice - good common areas, free pancake breakfast, tours etc organised. Sheets and towels provided with deposit. Seemed very popular and was quite busy (and noisy) but then that is to be expected. 15 min walk from the bus terminal, Eaton centre etc. Good range of restaurants nearby. more

We stayed here in a private room in May for 3 nights. The facilities were pretty basic but then the price was very low! We were in the second "house" of rooms, just up the street from the main lobby. There were enough toilet and shower facilities for the amount of rooms in our block. We only had to queue... more

This is definitely the worst experience I've had whilst travelling to date. Arrived to a very noisy hostle and had to stand in a queue with luggage to wait to check in as there was only one person manning the check in desk. This normally would of been fine, but there were two staff sitting and staring doing nothing when... more

On arriving at the hostel I noticed that the place was pretty noisy and very bustling. The hostel is opposite a massive night club, great for a night out but not so great when you want to sleep. It was very hot when we stayed so had to have the window open and were woken every night by drunken revellers.... more

Small rooms, eight people to share one shower and toilet that does not flush right. Booked a room to share with two other females and when i got there they said i booked a mixed room and directed me to a room with two males with smelly clothes everywhere. I refused to stay the night and requested my money to... more

I spent about a week at Canadiana early March 2008 and enjoyed the atmosphere from the moment I stepped in. It was winter, and many of its occupants stayed indoors (in the common area) when the sun goes down. To keep things interesting for travelers, Canadiana organises nightly activities (ie. Futsal, BBQ, Karaoke, Comedy Nights) at no charge, though each... more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights on a recent trip to Toronto to catch the Red Sox/Blue Jays game. I booked this hostel because I saw it had been voted #1 hostel in north america. Depending on what room you are in, the experience is incredibly variable. Our first night was absolutely terrible when we stayed in... more
