There is nothing inviting, warm or comfortable about these hotel rooms. Sterile industrial design trying so hard, and done so poorly, its bordering on cold and inhospitable. The first room had an exit door that was venting cold air from the outside. The second room we got also lacked proper heating and made for a chilli night and featured a... More

Great boutique Hotel. If you are looking for a hotel with all amenities this probably won't be a great fit for you. I don't think it is practical if you have kids either. But if you are trying to discover Toronto with a significant other, this is a great location. The rooms are really fancy, very modern and great design.... More

I stayed this hotel in Dec 2013. The hotel is totally normal except of some details. But they are not important in comparance with the fact they steal the guest things. I asked the front desk (Ms. Vanessa) to receive a parcel and store it befor me or someone from me come and take it. They agreed. TNT confirmed the... More

We stayed at the Templar in July 2014. We decided to go to Toronto for a weekend last minute and so the hotels we usually stay at in downtown TO were all booked. We read the reviews of the Templar before we stayed so we knew that it was different than a traditional hotel and went into our stay with... More

There is something fundamentally wrong at the Templar. They fail to credit prepayments, do not provide bills, make misstatements, and the staff is not properly trained or supervised. The many problems created by the Templar's mismanagement and minimalist aesthetic added up to a very poor experience. The problems begin with the reservation department. We used a Toronto based trip planner... More

Love to support other boutique hotels when I travel and the Templar is VERY boutique, only 27 rooms or so I believe. The lobby is modern and clean cut - not a lot of foot traffic so the hotel is very quiet, you feel like you are the only one there. Rooms are minimalist and tech saavy with Ipads in... More

I forgot to add that there was one wastebasket in the room in the bathroom none in the living area or the desk area, frustrating. The door to the room does not close automatically you have to double check that your door is tightly closed dangerous if you leave it opened and do not double check. No phones in room... More

First - a disclaimer: I'm a fussy hotel person. I've stayed at Four Seasons' resorts on tiny Hawaiian islands and at W Hotels in major metropolitan cities. All that to say - I'm an opinionated traveler. There is something magical about the Templar that I fell in love with from the moment I pulled up. Nothing fancy on the exterior.... More

I spent 4 nights at the hotel with a group of business partners. We had booked 4 rooms. But let me start with the positive. Very nice design hotel, great location in the center of the city and great chef in the kitchen re-designing your breakfast every morning you decide to experience his dedication to food. Unfortunately the negative outweighs... More
