The Templar Hotel is very centrally located, near the entertainment district and walkable to most Toronto attractions. I booked this at a last-minute low rate and for what I paid--at what was going to be an expensive Saturday night at every other hotel I looked at--I had a good experience, but not great. I stayed here with a friend on... More

Peachrayz, Thanks for the review. I'm happy to hear the hotel was generally a good experience for you and that we provided excellent value for what you paid. However, from reading your review it seems there was a slight miscommunication in what the Templar Hotel is and what we offer and what stage we are currently at in our development.... More

kmac4541, Thanks for your review and I'm glad you like the hotel and that you will return. We are a new hotel and we certainly appreciate the feedback. We try to communicate with guests that parking surrounds the hotel and that guests arrange their own parking with the parking lot. We apologize for the miscommunication in this case. We can't... The hotel is centrally located, close to everything. The staff was very helpful! We bought some tickets to an attraction while we were there, and didn't have a printer with us, so they printed the tickets for us. The rooms facing the street were a little noisy, so if you're looking for quiet, ask for a room away from the... More

I have stayed at Templar Hotel for a week. The design of this boutique hotel itself and the rooms and the combination with art are really amazing. it is located in the city's heart, close to queen street, cn tower,... with plenty of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner around. but most amazing is the staff like carly, rick and... Very cool, stark, design boutique hotel in the heart of Fashion District in Toronto meaning that you're 5/10 mins walk from Rogers / CN Tower and 5 mins from the heart of shopping on Queen Street West. A 10 / 15 minute slow walk gets you over to The Eaton Centre and the financial district. This is a small hotel,... More

I spend half my time working in Toronto and have stayed in many different hotels but finally settled for the Templar. I was a guest at the Templar Hotel last weekend. My room was spacious, modern, clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Extremely friendly staff, and we met the owner in the lounge, he made us feel at home and welcome, provided us with advise for things to see and do in the area. I will be staying there again... Cool and stylish hotel and friendly staff too. Close to just about everything downtown which was definitely great! I also got a chance to speak with a manager and she was excited to talk about all the new changes happening at the hotel. I will be back for sure!

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
