Only stay if you are almost deaf and blind. We didn't sleep a wink all night because of the noise on Spadina and the noise in the room above. The patron above wasn't a noisy individual, but the creak of the floor was like chalk grating on the board, the sound of him going to the toilet was like a... more

I believe that hotels are one area where you get what you pay for and this B&B is no exception. The good thing is that it is located near a subway station, so going to/from downtown was a snap. As for amenities, guest service, well, the centralized switchboard is no help so Wifi really is your friend. more

My wife & I stayed in Room 103 at 219 Spadina for the nights of July 8 thru the 13th. It suited our needs very well. Most of our time was spent with our daughter and her family, so we were only in the room from about 8:00pm til about 8:00 am each night and then had a quick breakfast... more

I stayed at Castlegate Inn in order to attend a convetion that took place at Toronto Convention Centre. I booked the room via email, Fina, the girl who was in cherge of all this was pretty efficient and diligent doing this. I arrived at midnight, keys were waiting for me along with an envelope with all the instructions in order... more

I stayed here whilst attending a meeting at the University of Toronto, and could not really ask for a better combination of location and price. I was a little nervous about the late arrival arrangements, where your key is in an envelope pinned to the wall inside the reception area, that you collect yourself, but everything worked out fine (this... more

Place dirty and attended by bad-mannered persons. They themselves write the good commentaries. Thieves. They steal to the rooms. Rude and bad-mannered. BB's disgust. more

I read the previous review and I am very curious that people can be so unjust! This hotel is O.K. Located in a very convinient and nice place, with adequate price and more ... with not bad WiFi connection (free during my stay). This is not true that the hotel is dangerous or dirty. There are lies. Place is quite,... more

I regularly visit Toronto for business, and am quite pleased to have found Castlegate Inn. I have stayed here on numerous occasions this past year, and the inn completely suits my needs. I generally only require a clean and quiet place to rest my head between meetings, and prefer not to spend a ton of money for such a place.... more

Pros: great location, price, service and coffee. Cons: Couldn't get tv to work; bathroom, towels and furniture were in rough shape (but clean). A little TLC would add a lot of charm. Worth staying at if you're not spending a lot of time in your room. more

My friend referred me to Castlegate Inn after staying there on his visit to Toronto. I was a little hesitant to make a reservation at a place I was not familiar with. However, it turned out to be a charming little place. I stayed in room 1 at building 203, and thought it was quite cute. The room had a... more
