This is a weird place but I expected it. It "feels" unwelcoming, unfriendly, awkward, filthy. But it isn't too bad once you sink in. You get puzzled about how to communicate with the absent hosts, frazzled by the obligatory shoe removal before getting in. The narrow corridors, the "poor" looking everything. But... once in the room, you have a firm... More

The Manager, Caretaker or whoever is in charge is very strange. My first impressions were not a great start. I walked into the front room (Used as a reception from what I could gather) greeted by an older gentlemen’s butt crack as he was leaning over trying to fix something on the floor. This scenario continued for more than 5... More

This was the worst experience in customer service I have ever had. We booked a private room with a private bathroom and weren't expecting much for the price-we just needed a place to sleep at the end of the day. And we didn't even get that! We arrived and waited at least 1 hour for someone to come check us... More

I have read previous reviews and most bad i think it is due to your expectations and i will have to agree with some of the problems mentioned. The main reason one person would pay a different price for the same room for a different bed is that every booking site has a slightly different price so it is very... More

Don't. Just don't. If you're reading this, get off the page. Do not. Even. Consider. IT. My boyfriend and I booked a room here because it was the cheapest alternative for new years eve that wasn't $300. We got a room (which i'm pretty sure was supposed to be a double bed) that came with a tiny single bed, and... More

The one good thing about this hostel was the location! Right downtown and near everything! If you aren't planning to spend much time during the day here it's fine. Bathroom is really really dirty and doesn't get cleaned well or often. Very loud in the hallways at night. But it is very cheap so for the price it isn't terrible.

Worst hostel I have ever been to... It is very dirty and the staff is so unwelcoming. Moreover, they are scammers, they made us pay more than the girl sharing the same dormitory on the same night, and she had arrived at the same time.... they found tons of excuses when I approached them with that before yelling at me... 31 Grange Avenue, Toronto--one of the 3 location of Chinatown Travelers Home. I stayed one night in May, the price was cheap, but the room was terrible! The bugs all over the bed, I can't sleep whole night! A really bad experience I had there.

We only booked 2 nights to start with as we were a bit cautious of past reviews. We did have to wait a while for someone to meet us at the house but it was easy to find. We had booked a 2 person private room and the ended up taking us to another building a few blocks away. There... More

Prior to our actual arrival, we read the various reviews about how horrible and inhabitable the hostel is. We were rather apprehensive, but we decided to give it a shot as we were tight on budget. There wasn't much problem finding the place as it was centrally located, but it within a housing estate. Quick summary of the hostel -... More
