From booking to checkout, it was fabulous. The instruction email was great, never having travelled to Canada before. The place was relatively easy to find from the instructions given, only costing a $3 bus fare (#192) from the airport to Kipling subway then a easy 5 minute walk from Wellesley subway station. The room itself was very clean, neat and... More

The Inn is about 10 minutes taxi ride from downtown so be prepared for a little bit of outlay on getting around. he neighbourhood is good with some nice places to eat... More

My husband and I stayed here two weekends ago (July 24-27). The rooms, kitchen, bathroom and common area were extremely comfortable and clean. The inn is just off Church street in the gay village close to many shops, bars and restaurants. It is also very accessible by public transit, the Wellesley subway station is a couple of blocks away. Our... More

Last month I again stayed at the wonderful Downtown Home Inn, just off Church St in Toronto. I love staying here, it is in a great location for shopping, eating and travelling around Toronto. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, the kitchen-living room is an excellent space for meeting other guests, especally over breakfast. On this trip the lovely Kerem... More

This was my second visit this year and I had great experiences on both occasions. The owners/staff are friendly and helpful. The Inn is located just steps from the heart of Church street which is flooded with shops, restaurants and bars. The room I was in, on the second floor, was clean, and spacious. My room faced south with a... More

I was in Toronto for busines and decided to book a B&B instead of a hotel. This B&B is a nice old building. The rooms and shower are basic and clean. It has a large living room on the ground floor where you can have breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is near the subway, you can... More

I stayed here in both May and June. The first time was during the week and the second was on the weekend. Both times, I had a quiet stay. It's very homey and because it is an old home, noise travels, but I still did not hear a lot. The self-serve breakfast is wonderful and the host is friendly. It... More

This was such a wonderful everything! We stayed in the Acacia which was on the main floor towards the back, close by the kitchen. The bathrooms are shared, one of the second and third floor. Breakfast consisted of tasty and healthy cereal, toast with a variety of add-ons, eggs, fruit, yogurt etc which feels cozy like home, Also management pops... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
