Lovely accommodations, fantastic location, and superb service. I feel that I got away with a great price on Orbitz and would definitely stay there again. Travelers should be aware (especially travelers booking their stay here on Orbitz.com) that there are multiple "types" or "levels" of rooms in this hotel. If you want high speed internet you will have to upgrade... more

Most people are reluctant to book hotels that are not flagged by the big brands. Which in my opinion sometimes is the safest route (in certain countries) but in many circumstances a big mistake. The Metropolitan may not have 2000 hotels world wide or be a house hold name or have it's heiress with her own TV show like the... more

I chose the Metropolitan based on location for my business meetings in Toronto and price (which was $35/night cheaper than the nearby Sheraton Centre). Room was smaller than average, but comfortable. TV had a good selection of channels (over 50) and the free high-speed internet was fast and reliable. Ordered breakfast from room service - it was above average. The... more

My wife and I were at the hotel in late November and the best part was the service we received, which was excellent! The hotel decor was OK, and the room was quiet and had a nice view of some of the downtown core. It was a little bit small, but we only stayed for 2 nights and most of... more

This hotel is in a great location. But that's where it ended for me. The "internet access" advertised on the website when I booked my room meant using a phone line for dial-up. The down duvet covered bed was a blanket with 2 sheets on either side of it. When I asked the concierge to help me get tickets to... more

There are so many other options in Toronto in this price range - why reward a sub-standard hotel with your business? The location of the Metropolitan isn't bad, and during my stay I encountered one or two friendly staff, but beyond that I would say this hotel is really unacceptable, and I would urge anyone considering it to go elsewhere.... more

I had booked a Superior grade room and then I saw all the negative reviews, and wondered what I had done ! The hotel must have had a major overhaul, because I found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful, the rooms were spotless and were very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The air-con is very noisy, but I... more

Stayed three nights in August 07. Night one -- Asked the Valet parking attendant to park our car. He said the parking lot was full. As I was driving away to go to another parking lot I saw the Valet taking another vehicle. I got out and challenged him on this and he said that the spots were only for... more

It seems to me that other reviewers must have been writing about another hotel altogether! Check-in and out was fast; the conciege polite and very helpful. The room was very clean and serviced every day. Yes, there could have been more cupboard space but we have learned to travel light anyway. We didn't eat at the hotel but can thoroughly... more
