Great location. Quick check in. Elevators always arrived quickly. The rooms are dated but clean. Two suitcase stands in our room (great!). Internet was pretty slow and weak signal, but it was free and I still got a lot of work done online. Didn't eat in hotel as there are lots of restaurants on Dundas Street West. Workout facility was... more

The day I checked in, the entire lobby smelled like sweage! The front desk mentioned it was from a backup in the elevator shaft. Yikes! Went to our "deluxe' room that looked like it was from a bad 80's movie. The decor was very dated and worn. There were even cigarette burns in the carpet and a cracked toilet in... more

Perhaps there are rooms in the hotel that are nice - the one we stayed in, wasn't one of them. The smell of the room was horrible and the decor was dated. more

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in January, partially on business and partially for pleasure. The rooms were very small, tired, grungy and in a state of disrepair. The closet space was laughable. The hotel advertises "wireless internet", but the signal was so bad, it was not possible to access the internet anywhere in the hotel, including in... more

I agree with some of the other reviews here that the hotel is a bit tired, and needs to be spruced up. But for value for money it is the best downtown Toronto deal. The local competition is the Sheraton (more expensive, and in addition charges for internet service), the Marriot (usually much more expensive), and some cheaper hotels (which... more

I visited the hotel for a business trip in January 2008 and stayed 5 nights. I stayed in a room with one king bed. My training seminar was across the street from the university and had listed the Metropolitan as the nearest hotel. The location was nice. I'm from North Carolina and I'm not used to driving in the snow,... more

I didn't read the reviews when i booked it. Always thought Metropolitan were good hotels.. but i guess not. very bad rooms... there were nothing in the room. no fridge, no couch to sit, super small closet, and the heater was super old school and it was either gonna be super hot or super cold..! major disapointment...! never again, it... more

Dirty carpet and rooms in poor repair and old. We travelled for a national organization and all had the same experience as a group. Seasoned travelers wouldn't even take their socks off. Washed sink before using and found all rooms dated and dirty feeling. Poor performance for Downtown TO! more
