After a year away from home en route from Dubai via Amsterdam, my wife and I were looking forward to rejuvenating at the Marriott Yorkville. The location was perfect – an organic supermarket on one side and the Bay on the other, plus a wide variety of restaurants and shopping districts only a short walk away. Jet-lagged and exhausted, we... More

A fried and I visited the Toronto for two nights to catch two Blue jays games. We stayed at the Marriott based on the fact that this is the hotel we received when we booked through hotwire. We were pleasantly surprised with what we received. The hotel is conveniently located just above the two major Toronto subway lines which made... More

Excellent rooms and service. Hotel is literally on top of a tube station, so getting around was so easy. Even so no noise could be heard in the room. The hotel is also close to shops and amenities. Parking by valet was convenient and secure.

My Yorkville Marriott stay was delightful thanks to Alivia and Kevin. I love staying at this marriott when business takes me to Toronto due to the excellent service and proximity to the office. This trip, however, was remarkable because Kevin and Alivia truly cared about my happiness. Currently, I am on a restricted diet. I mentioned this to Alivia and... More

Disappointing after 3 great experiences with Hilton in USA. Has to ask for room swap as air conditioning was totally inefficient and corridors smell damp. Offer of 5 Dollars to spend in hotel if take no room servicing. What an insult! Might be much more attractive if offered free Wi-Fi in return for this. How can other chains offer free... More

Service was great; love how its right over the Bloom/Yonge stop that gives you access to both of Toronto's main subway lines. And a five minute walk to everything that Church and Wellesley has to offer. only complaint-- how cumbersome the walk is the elevators. When booking, ask for a room close to the elevator. It'll save you time!

Yes it is a 4 star hotel with 4 star pricing. If you are driving there is valet parking for an additional $40.00. If you want wifi that is an additional $13.00 per day. Upper end hotels charging extra for wifi is getting a little old. Yorkville is centrally located.

My husband and I stayed at the Marriott on Bloor in June of this year and were very pleasantly surprised by our experiene. Though we live in Toronto, we wanted a “night out” and so we used our Marriott points to stay for a night. We had a suite and it was extremely large and spacious. The bathroom was gorgeous... More

The location of this hotel can't be beat, Yonge-Bloor, right above both subway lines. You can walk to restaurants, bars and high-end shopping along Bloor street. There is a grocery store on one side and the Bay and shops on the other. The hotel itself is fine, the room was clean and large with an updated bathroom, safe, coffee machine, fridge.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
