After looking at the reviews on this hotel we thought it would not be a bad place to stay for the price. The hotel was OK, very dated, but the area was awful, very run down. It took us an hour to find it by foot and when we asked a police man where it was he did not know... more

My friend and I stayed at the Alexandra Hotel in June of 2008. It was completely affordable, and in a great location! It's in a residential area, so it felt safe enough to explore by foot. It's only 2 blocks off Queen Street, close to several local markets and great stores. The room had a small kitchette, so we made... more

For the price in the downtown area of Toronto, this hotel can't be beat. All rooms include one queen and one twin bed, and a minimally equipped mini-kitchen in the same room (very handy for breakfast). Parking is only $3.50/night extra...this is a real steal! The hotel appears to be a converted apartment building...basically all units are studio apartments. They... more

Very good location especially for the price. Very clean but rooms were small, although had sink, stove, microwave & small fridge. Finishes were of very low quality. Requires a deposit for many standard features such as iron, coffee maker, alarm clock, etc. Not for everyone but if you need a place to crash and won't spend much time there pretty... more

I was very apprehensive about staying at the Alexandria Hotel because the exterior looks more like student accommodation and I thought it might be a bit scuzzy, but I booked anyhow as it was the cheapest place I could find in Downtown Toronto- and I am certainly glad I did. I didn't get a particularly warm welcome from the man... more

This accomodation is basic but clean. Its excellent value for money. I'm a single woman staying here on my own at the moment and I feel completely safe in the area as long as I do not venture out too late at night (this is the precaution I would take if I were anywhere unfamiliar). The rooms are equipped with... more

Alexandra is a cheap hotel in the centre of Toronto. I wasn't sure to book first, reading all the reviews on the internet. But I'm happy we did. We stayed for two nights. It's a twenty minute walk to the CN tower and Skydome and about the same to Eaton centre. Nearby are a lot of places to eat. Try... more

The hotel wasn't in the luxurious part of the city, but located about a 10/15 minute walk away from the hustle and bustle. The neighbourhood looked run down, but to say it looked crime ridden etc is unfair and toffee-nosed. Had my details on arrival and I paid there and then. I thought the hotel corridors and lift had a... more

This hotel is in a slightly shady neighborhood off of Queen Street. A pretty good value for the money but very tired rooms and you do need to bring your own alarm clock. There is a kitchenette that you can do microwaving and making tea/coffee in. Queen street is within walking distance and there are several convenient shops selling simple... more

We pre-paid for this hotel on Expedia. It was the only budget option we could find that was cheap and was anywhere remotely near the centre of Toronto and had acceptable reviews on Tripadvisor. We found out that it falls somewhere between the categories of upmarket hostel and budget hotel. We arrived early but checked in without problem. The rooms... more
