Myself and my two teenage children stayed here for three nights in mid August 2015. Everything we wanted to do was downtown and the Alexandra was a nice walk or quick streetcar ride. A taxi from Island airport was 8 dollars. We took in a Jays game and two theatre shows and had too many restaurants to choose from. The... More

Great hotel, affordable, convenient location. I would definitely stay here again. The location is great, and you are so close to the city centre that everything is walkable. I have brought friends and family here and would do so again very happy

From the beginning we knew this was a budget hotel and I even asked to see the room before paying. I was not disappointed as the room was very clean and comfortable, which was our priority. The linens fresh and clean as well as the towels, bathroom spotless. The location was great as it was close to Kemsington Market and... More

All the hotel rooms in the city centre were booked so I looked a little to the west and found the Alexandra. It's on a quiet cul-de-sac and backs onto a park but is just a few minutes' walk from the restaurants on Dundas and Queen streets, not to mention Theatre Passe-Muraille. The reception was friendly and efficient and the... More

Everything you need on a budget. Not a new place but if you're not a snob, it is great. Room was clean. Used the shower, it had hot water. Didn't hear any other guests. Check-in was efficient and fast. There is parking for a small fee. Spent an hour in the adjacent park Sunday morning watching people do tai-chi while... More

Very bad! I ve travelled a lot because of work, from China to USA. Defenitely this has been one of the worst experience in my life. starting from reception, no service at all, neither politeness. The bedroom very old, probably forniture of 60's. Moquette on the floor that gives you the feeling of dirt. windows dirt, the room is noisy... More

The Hotel Alexandra is an economy hotel located near the Chinatown section of Toronto. Its amenities include a fridge and kitchenette. Quiet neighborhood. The hustle and bustle of Chinatown is within walking distance. Staff is friendly and courteous. Note to the editors of Trip Advisor: In some other instances (such as where I have been): you have Toronto incorrectly listed... More

This place was great! The most important thing is that it was clean! Full kitchenette with a beer fridge is pretty amazing. Friendly front desk staff! Would defiantly stay here again. Steps away from Queen st west it's a pretty amazing location!

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Toronto's main Chinatown has the honor of being the largest in North America. Gaping down across Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue, the area is a wonderful medley of shops and restaurants, busy signs and bright red gates, a destination for foodie fun. Chinatown's streets are always bustling, packed with people and outdoor stalls hawking fresh produce and products. The restaurants and authentic marketplaces that shoulder in against each other display shining roast ducks and menus studded with dumplings and noodle bowls. The air is pervaded with music. different languages, and the smell of fried food and mouth-watering desserts. Chinatown's restaurants represent a broad range of fare, from traditional Szechuan and Shanghai foods, to other Asian delicacies, including some of the top Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean spots in the city.
